...good on you Lance. You've done more for cancer awareness than any bike could ever carry.

He's also participated in various charitable causes affecting local communities, like post-Katrina, education etc....

I have no idea whether Lance is guilty but IF he is then he's a cheat regardless of any good work he's done. Besides IF he is a cheat then arguably the cheating put him in a position to be charitable and inspirational.

You are bandying about the word "CHEAT" as if he was pulled along in a rickshaw, while someone else pedaled, while Lance sat in the back and drank martinis, exerting no effort... as he won 7 Tours in a row.

The man busted his ass. He wasnt pulled in a rickshaw

I also bandied IF. I don't know whether he took drugs and IF he did I don't know how many of those races he would have won. But isn't that the point if he took drugs then he cheated and we don't know how well he would have done without them?

IF is a helluva word....be careful with If and It and Id and Is

I'm sure the folks at Livestrong are not happy with these developments. Here is an organization that promotes healthy living, and their main supporter was taking all these drugs. What a great example.

I saw a report that they usually get $3,000 per day in donations... last Friday over 400 people donated over $80,000 in a day.

Thinking, reasonable people know that this is a witch hunt and understand why Armstrong decided (after 10 years of these asholez being azholes) to stop fighting the azholes. Live strong will keep living strong.

For all you twitter people... you can follow Lance on twitter

Armstrong on Twitter: "Thanks to all the amazing @livestrong supporters worldwide. Donations today were UP 25x over yesterdays. Thank you thank you thank you!"

So people start giving money to LS because they are supporting an alleged cheater?

How sad...

Remember when Lance Armstrong won 7 Tour de Frances in a row??....
yeah... that was awesome...
but some people hated that so much and become so red faced jealous that they swore to forever slander his name, no matter how many drug tests he passed (and he passed them all) And now after all of these years these they are still cackling about it... LOL... it has become kind of amusing...

oh well I guess people love (and need) a good conspiracy theory.

If he passed all the test ....he's the winner...and he did...case closed

Just to put this subject to bed, the USADA report is out :

Overwhelming' evidence shows Lance Armstrong engaged in the biggest doping conspiracy in sports history to win the Tour de France seven times, the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) said Wednesday.

"Lance Armstrong did not merely use performance-enhancing drugs. He supplied them to his teammates," the report said. "He was not just a part of the doping culture on his team. He enforced and re-enforced it."

The program was designed to evade detection as well as pressure athletes into taking drugs and maintain a "code of silence" about activities.

USADA also cites e-mails, lab test results, scientific data and financial records, included more than $1 million in documented payments from Armstrong to a Swiss company run by doctor Michele Ferrari, who purportedly advised him on doping.

"The evidence in the case is beyond strong," the report said. "It is as strong as or stronger than that presented in any case brought by USADA."

Has the International Cycling Union taken back the trophys yet? No, it has not. [article.wn.com]

The Australian 2012-08-26: THE US Anti-Doping Agency has no jurisdiction or legal right to strip Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles, according to one of Australia's most senior officials. Sydney's Phill Bates, a member of the international cycling union's arbitration tribunal, yesterday described USADA's actions against Armstrong as unenforceable and described the organisation's chief executive Travis Tygart as an "egomaniac publicity hunter". Maybe you're right Max, maybe we should just applaude the USADA for their effort and commitment to clean the sport, with hope that present and future generations
of athletes can compete with fair opportunities.

Hello,

No crowing about any of this from me, just sadness. The scribbling on Tuesday 28th August is still how I feel...

And in more black humour...

I'm just away to wrap some new bar-tape and then get out for a wee spin...

Cheers,

What I find disappointing, is the number of people that would be disappointed if he were found innocent.

I've read some of the posts here, and the pure joy exhibited with the idea that he's guilty, or would be stripped of titles is a bit vile.

His case is not closed yet, so I will wait and see.
