I'll only go and see them in an Arena, that's the promise I made to myself after seeing them at Pacbell in 2002 and then just after that at the Oakland Arena, night and DAY !

QuoteMabru Some must a have outtake albums and of cource there are more ;-) Crushed Pearl (outtakes Dirty Work) I just happened to be listening to "Crushed Pearl" today and the sound really isn't stellar is it?! I mean it's an interesting CD but the sound is rough.

Keith for sure and man seeing that video of FTS live in 1997 makes me sad, Keith could still really play in those days couldn't he... Does anyone have the link to the "Husker Du" song that sounds like "Too Tight" ?

...and it's not like she writes for the NYT either, heck, no one's been able to link to that original review, talk about good and broad advertising. A Google search shows she writes for People magazine and Bilboard, is that where this review came from ?

Yes, 10 tracks would probably have helped. What would have helped too is getting some good musicians to add some depth like they did for B2B, Benmont Tench on AAOM and Waddy on SOM really bring these tunes to lige. When you're stuck with Mick on bass (NeoCon) then you know something's wrong... Were they too embarassed to get other people to play on ABB or were they being their usu

Been discussed to death, but they were really very generous with that credit. Anyway, back to the topic...pretty sad, but then Page was a studio hack, if he'd had any songwriting talent in the first place he would have done something else. Probably explains why the guy hasn't written a single thing of even the remotest interest since...Achille's Last Stand, being generous, in wh

Yes and she's obviously not aware that "So Young" was already released in 1994, most likelty the same version too.

"covers/live album that turned into IORR..." What, never heard that story before ?! Other than that Dobie Gray track...darn, what is it called..."Drift Away", was there any other cover they recorded at that time, ok, "Ain't Too Proud to Beg". Good guess on "Don't be a Stranger" being "Don't You Get Enough", not much of a shuff

Satriani comes to mind too, or at least the guy who plays the slide on some instrumentals from the 1988 Australian tour, could be Jimmy Rip.

Sure, best to drive safe, what version is it, the fast rockabilly version or the long "rockier" version? I'm guessing it's the former.

Yes, Dancing Girls has something, it did "annoy" me for a long time though since I kept trying to hear "Linda Lu" in the lyrics as it was wrongly given this title on the otherwise excellent "Lonely at the Top" boot! Quotebig4I wonder if English Rose is the song Scarlett since it would seem to be from around the same '74-'75 time period. That's a tho

Quotekowalski Well if it's true it's excellent news. I'm waiting for this to happen since the Virgin remastered reissues, ie something like 15 years ago. Interesting that you mention the Virgin reissues because it seems the plan at the time was to add unreleased tracks to the reissues so Mick spent some time at RPM in NYC at the end of 1993 and apparently only finished 6 songs so

Assuming it exists ! I think we should focus on stuff that's been leaked and that we like ;-) Not much to add...Gangster's Moll, but it seems they never managed to get it right, the Lonely at the Top version is good, but the Jagger/Beck version from 1987 is a bit weak, that new bridge is really bad. A few of my favs : Honest Man Ivy League (partly reused for Lucky Day and Ra

Quotemartinw Track 12 - Still In Love V - I've not heard this one - 7.29 long with a rough/guide vocal. Is this a new one, or has it come out before? Good question, I'd forgotten about this one, but looking at...my site I found it as track 185 and was called "Ralph's Tune" on a Keith "Learning the Game" boot, apparently reattempted in 1985!

I'll have to give it another spin (yes I do have the LP!) but I really can't remember much apart from Leather Jacket. For those who haven't heard it I've uploaded "Special" from the "Unreleased Second Album" >>> <<< really an excellent track!

QuoteRocky Dijon It was posted here as a megaupload a couple of months ago along with early versions of several Primitive Cool tracks. Just bumped into this, what were these "several Primitive Cool tracks"? AFAIK the only one that got leaked is "Danger up Ahead", have I missed something? Sounds like N.Zentgraff has heard the others though ;-)

Hum, Dance pt 3 ? I'm pretty sure I've seen that on outtakes but on a SOM single? Odd... EDIT - yep found it on "Emotional Rescue Sessions" - unfortunately that CD must have been made from the vinyl is full of cracks. Also has the great "Jah is not Dead" track...supposedly once 45 minutes long when Mick played to the record company execs who stopped by to check on

IMHO “Special” is the best new song Mick Taylor has come up with this side of 1974. Sure the lyrics need some polishing but the music is really good. It’s hard to understand why he didn’t finish it off for “Stranger in this Town” (yes I bought the CD in 1990) that was an odd “album”, with a mix of studio and live tracks and some (rather boring) originals with some tired covers (Jumping Jack Fl

Never heard Keith there, gave it another try today, no change. Keith had a much higher pitched voice at the time, just listen to the birthday Brown Sugar with Claption, yes that's Keith doing a lot of the singing there, or on countless trackes on Exile. A fake that needs to be taken down , not sure who could though, maybe Keith...would be a good question for a future interview!

Other than the more elaborate artwork and "Guitar Lesson (Stereo)", does this add anything to the original version by OBR (OBR-305) ?
