no spare parts (2011) vs exile unreleased tracks
Date: October 23, 2011 17:26

No Spare Parts is sticking in my head, I really like it even with Mick's new vocals. Comparing it to the unreleased tracks on exile I would say that only two were better: Plundered My Soul and Soul Survivor (just because I love to hear prime Keith sing). Really looking forward to Some Girls Deluxe!

let's compare mick taylor to ronnie wood instead. i like the mick taylor super deluxe better than the ronnie wood one.

I like the new one too, I think the vocal is fine and it's cool classic country stones, always fun to have those once in while.

I also like "No spare parts". Still it would have been great with a bridge that changes the song a bit!

Still it will be interesting to listen to the "Some Girls" De Luxe Edition.

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

headfullofsnow...

You rate Soul Survivor as one of the best outtakes just because it has "prime Keith" singing??

I think it's the weakest of all because a) it's musically identical to the original. b) Keith is just mumbling gibberish, i'd hardly call it prime singing. Biggest disappointement of the lot, im my opinion. I skip it everytime (as I do most Keith vocal tracks).

I´m sorry, nos pare parts had never been my favourite song, it´s quite boring and i can´t even concentrate until minute 2.
the exile-outtakes were great and new (except good time woman)
but no spare parts is definetly NO single, perhaps with a new arrangment but chorus and verse sound simular, no break, no tension thumbs down

So far it's better than these for sure:

Following The River
Soul Survivor
Title 5
So Divine
Dancing In The Light

Plundered My Soul has been the only thing that's been of very high quality, but its all interesting.

Sure, best to drive safe, what version is it, the fast rockabilly version or the long "rockier" version? I'm guessing it's the former.
