QuoteMileHigh I beat an empty cookie tin and thought that I was Ringo... in 1963. I like a lot of disco from 1978 through 1982. I used to bash on my older brothers acoustic guitar aimlessly along to Day Tripper (and the rest of the yesterday and Today album) when I was 3 or 4 years old. I vividly remember one time my mom and aunt spying on me through a crack in the door, and then s

I saw them opening for, and then backing Bob Dylan at the L.A. Forum back in 1986. Never bothered to see Tom Petty again, but have seen Dylan many times since.

The last word at UME is the promise of a new album done by summer (June/September), but the release date can be anytime, Keith's album and B&L were released after a year with both albums ready and done so I won't be surprised if the new album i

This is all going in circles Ian - if you recall Don was said they 'hit the wall' with Mick's 40 demos. Then Ronnie said they might 'start from scratch' due to the frustration of 'hitting the wall'. Maybe they went back to those demos again since then, but I highly doubt it. Why would they keep banging their heads against a wall? It's not going to make th

Like all music, IORR comes and goes through my system in cycles, but when it's on it's ON! Which reminds me, haven't listened to Exile from start to finish in awhile - time to reabsorb it in all it's greatness. And then Beggars Banquet, followed by Let it Bleed, followed by Sticky Fingers. But then there's the Beatles' Revolver and White album that need to be deal

Mick's vocals sound good, but it's interesting to see how some Stones fans can be so easily pleased these days. guess when there's nothing else happening, even a hokey country duet can fill the void. Is this tune really worthy of some of the high praise it's getting? Personally I don't think so. Might last awhile on country radio, but for the rest of the world it will

Quotekeefriff99 QuoteHairball Lol - I guess he'd rather be there than stuck in the studio with Keith. Meanwhile Keith is spending his retirement trying to open a jar of pickles. And playing music - see Merle Haggard tribute, new Sheryl Crow album, etc., etc., etc.

Stoned is proof of their amazing blues prowess in the beginning - absolute killer tune. While they wouldn't play it live as an opener, it would be great as the intro music right before they hit the stage with a montage of old band photos.

His death hit me hard, and I have been, IDK, following the aftermath. The recent released police reports from Paisley Park death scene have been upsetting. Later today I am going to check if this 'new release' is still available, bec

QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash Please, Bob - some new original tunes! Even if they're sub-par it will be better than more Sinatra stuff... Yes please - and the same goes out to the Stones - no more blues covers. While B&L is adequate/decent, it's time to get real and record some originals - even of they suck at least they tried.

I imagine the video will portray a bunch of good old boys at a country/honky tonk bar drinking loads of beer and playing pool. Then one of them gets turned down by the hot waitress, takes off in his beat up old pickup truck, and heads down the road for the 'Drive of Shame'.

QuoteMisterDDDD Snippet Sounds great!! Mick sounds good. The song itself sounds typically generic contemporary country though- it's also loud and brash. Might sound better while at a country/honky tonk bar drinking loads of beer and playing pool.

QuoteRocky Dijon For clarity, Carlos Alomar and Marti Fredericksen (allegedly, in Marti's case) - like Matt Clifford, Jimmy Rip, and Dave Stewart wrote music with Jagger, not lyrics. Rob Thomas and Lenny Kravitz worked on lyrics. I've always wondered about the lyrics to "Joy," but I've heard no claims Bono did anything but sing. And whatever happened to those two '
