QuoteCristiano Radtke Listen to an unreleased outtake of Beatles' classic Thanks Cristiano! Being that it's a work in progress, it's fascinating. As the writer states: "It’s safe to say the final version is more of a banger, but this recording offers an intriguing glimpse into the Fabs’ world".

Out of the four - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - I've always felt that Crosby was the weakest link. Sure a couple of good songs he's written, and sure a bit of decent guitar here and there, and of course great backing vocals (and even an occasional great lead vocal). But compared to the others, and on his own.... weak.

One of my favorite Dylan surprises happened three nights in a row - great versions of the Stones' Brown Sugar Oct. 15, 16, and 17, 2002 at the then newly refurbished Wiltern Theater. He was the first to break in the 'new' theater a few weeks before the Stones played there. Another memorable Dylan surprise - sitting next to Ronnie Wood 5th row center at the Santa Monica Ci

Quotetomk Quotestonehearted QuotedmayStephen Stills auditioned to become one of the Monkees and was turned down. That's how Peter Tork got the job instead, because of his connection with Stephen Stills and the area folk scene. But imagine if another area "folkie" who auditioned had been chosen, then it would have been a different group altogether. "Another Pleasant Valley

Quotewhitem8 So what is the real scoop on why he has given up the guitar? Does anyone know or have some links to stories? I don't have the 'real scoop', but the last couple of times I saw him up close he kept his right arm straight and dangling down most of the time, while his left hand was clinched and tucked in to his waste. Sometimes he would clinch the mic stand or his harmon

There were eight long years between Bridges and A Bigger Bang, and while I don't know how, when, or where ABB was all recorded, the results left a bit to be deisred imo. So now we're at the 12 year mark since ABB and nothing original released yet. Will all this extra time guarantee an album? I hope so. Will it guarantee a great album? Hard to predict. While I'm hopeful it will

Quotecrholmstrom Reports say Charlie really liked playing with Jeff & was disappointed it didn't work out. Everybody's is entitled to their own opinion but for me, Jeff is my favorite guitar player of all time. Totally changed my musical direction in life in 1976. He opened (with Jan Hammer) for Aerosmith in the Kingdome Seattle. A horrible sounding concrete dome. My 3rd concert eve

Regarding the originals that make up the covers of Blue and Lonesome Charlie said: "we just copy it, really" which says alot. In other words, they were simply copying the originals without stamping anything new on to the tunes which was the feeling I got when first hearing it. Nothing new added that hadn't already been done, but it was an enjoyable album for what it is even tho

Quotematxil I agree with HMS here. Whether you personally like Blue & Lonesome or not, as an album it will never have that legendary status as BB, LIB, SF and EOMS. In 15 years or 25 years or 50 years, if people will still talk about the Stones, they will mention the Big Four, and hits like Satisfaction and Start Me Up. They will not mention B&L in that same way. The only way it might ge

Not quite - maybe it was at least a contribution to establish a market plus an awareness for HiRes-Music. But there're now equal or better HiRes-Player from other vendors which can do the same or more than the Pono-Player, like FiiO X5-III, Astell&Kern AK380 or Sony NW-WM1Z

Don't know if this the same story stonehearted, but if memory serves it was some time back in the '80s that Van Halen and Brian May recorded some special guitar slinger instrumental and sent it to Clapton as a gift - he didn't like it as there was way too much 'noodling' type guitar hero soloing. I remember hearing it on the radio back then (think Joe Satriani meets St

OK I understand now. But then you have a quote like this from 24FPS (had to backtrack a page to find it): "Hand of Fate and Crazy Mama sound like museum pieces, lifeless songs they put on there to sound more like the classic Stones".
