After seeing some things on the 'making' of a Stones concert video, I find myself wondering: is any of it real? Overdubs, speed and pitch correction...if it isn't live, don't sell it as 'live' or 'in concert'. I'd rather hear what they REALLY sound like. Maybe why I like the boots and soundboards I have found on IORR better than teh commercial re

Thanks for posting the artcle, sweet neo con! Taylor has never seemed to slag The Stones. Very class. So many things with members/ex-members of bands tend to get ugly (see Van Halen). NIce to see the boys seem to be above most of that. As I listen to more and more bootlegs, I am stuned by just how good Taylor was. I missed seeing him with the Stones, but have seen his solo act. Not

When I was in college, the Police were scheduled to perform in our cafeteria in 1978, with a great band named XTC. It was $6. I still have the poster. Unfortunately, they cancelled when they got stuck at the border getting into the states. 28 years later I have a chance to see them again. But I'm debating the principle of anyone charging $235 for an arena show. (Though as a bro

I know that in the US, several new arenas in the 90s were equipped with seats for the hearing-impaired. So a hearing-impaired ticketholder could plug headphones or a hearing aid into a jack in the arm of their seat and be able to amplify sond, or eliminate background noise...at any event...concert, convention, hockey game, etc. A few industrious bootleggers also discovered you could plug a ta

Rush is touring this Summer. I hear a July 4th date near Buffalo. A very talented band...but they use a lot of effects and loops live...so I am always wondering: are they live or not? A lot of great bands mentioned above. But I will add one more: the original George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Bass, drums and George. I saw them in 1978 or 79 and they had a handmade sign on the drum ki

The Police are touring North America this Spring/Summer. A good band in their day. Good musicians, witty, insightful, fun. I have a chance to see them in Toronto, but tix are $235 each. It's in an 18,000 seat indoor arena, and $235 is the top-priced ticket. Balcony tix will be $90, I'm told. Am I just living wayyyyyyy in the past for thinking that anything over $75 is a huge pric

Undercover was a very good record....highly underrated. Songs like the title track, Too Much Blood and Wanna Hold You are as good as anything the band has done since the early 70s. All The Way Down still sounds good. I'd rate it 7.5-8. Is there a good reissue of Undercover out there on CD?

I miss the Kinks. They were an amazing live band....and Ray's songwriting/storytelling was second to none. I saw him live in a club a few years ago. It was basically him doing a Storytellers thing...telling where the songs came from, but oly playing snippets of each...and really only talking about the Kinks of the 1960s....but I believe they were at their peak in the 70s...then again, It&#

Wow...what a recording! One of the Best audience recordings I have ever heard. Brought back some GREAT memories. Especially Lisa and Mick and the band tearing up Night Time Is The Right Time. Incredible! Thanks, again!

The only ACDC/Stones item I own is the SARs Concert. I have the Canadian version of the DVD, which has more of the opening groups....but not enough of the Stones, or ACDC. I have never been even a minor fan of ACDC, but they kicked it live! Amazing! They stole the show!

I have heard there is a soundboard out there somewhere of the Stones from Sept 2005 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. A terrible venue for acoustics, but the boys managed to tame it that night...a true rarity. Does anyone know how I can acquire a copy?

I have been downloading some great stuff from this site, and have felt bad, because I have little to share. This is not Stones, but it is a great live show, that I attended on Bowie's 'Reality' tour, in a theatre in Buffalo. I had seen him earlier in the tour, in an arena in Toronto, and it was a very good show...filled with many 'hits'. The show in Buffalo dug a bit d

Thanks for the link, I had never heard of the band. They sound great! I loved the Clash, dug some of BAD's stuff . This sounds fresh, vibrant, and rocking. Nice to see that Mick Jones keeps moving forward...and a great way to build fas...give it away for free.

I recently purchased Layla and other Love Songs on CD. My vinyl was worn out from overplaying and too many beer spills at parties in my youth. I have been playing it the last several days. What a GREAT album. Maybe 2 weak songs on what was a double album. I would have loved to see where they would have gone had they been able to stay together (and Duane Allman avoiding a peach truck a coupl

I have one. It came in a round tin container with the Stones logo embossed onto the lid. It contains several video snippets. Nothing great (unfortunately). As I recall, some stuff from Bangalore and China. Some interviews and some shots of the boys traveling in India. A few other live videos also. I gave the Stones $100 and all I got was: a crappy poster, a short DVD and the right to b
