I had the pleasure of meeting and having a quick beer with Dennis Wilson back in 1977-- very funny guy... His solo album Pacific Ocean Blue is great-- and if you ever get the chance to here the follow up to that disc, "Bamboo" (only available as a bootleg), do it- would have been a tremendous second solo release

Just to add my two cents-- I think the main reason the albums dont sell as well anymore is more to the fact that radio has completely changed-- back in the 60's and 70's when a new Beatles or Stones album came out it was big news-- radio would play them to death-- these days most of the independant radio stations are gone and are replaced by huge corporations--they just dont have an

Really like the album-- never had heard of them until I read a good article on them in Mojo --Paul Simonen's Bass really holds that whole thing together--makes you wonder if the Clash would have morphed into something like this if they had stayed together

Always loved Ringo's drumming-- he had a great feel and complimented Lennon/ Mccartneys songs better than anyone could-- I saw Ringo perform live in 1989 and he was drumming alongside the great Levon Helm and he was tremendous ! In fact, Levon has often said Ringo was one of his 3 favorite drummers--

I just wish he would open his vaults and release the stuff he's been accumulating forever-- the reggae stuff he recrded with Peter Tosh's band (supposedly an albums worth), his solo piano country stuff,he's a great boogie-woogie piano player and he's recorded some of that, etc--- he wouldnt have to give up his drinking or cigs--just release the stuff--- look at Woody-- h

Keith sure seemed to enjoy playing in her "backing" band at the Rock and Roll Circus--I only hope his joy was at playing in a band with Lennon and Clapton--I cant believe he really liked it, or her--- And Mick is on one of her solo albums from the early 70's--- but again, that would have to be another favor to Lennon--- cant believe either one of them would consider that no-t

I remember reading an interview with Mccartney who said that he and Lennon stayed up for 30 hours straight getting the running order of the White Album they way they wanted it-- Also, wasnt there something in one of David Daltons books on the Stones something about Mick and Keith and Brian spending hours and hours on "Satanics" running order ?

I thought Ringo was getting inducted this year as well--- anyway its good to see the Dave Clark 5 getting in finally, and Leonard Cohen being recognized--- I also agree with the post regarding those acts who havent been noticed: Faces, Small Faces, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Harry Nillson, J Geils, etc--- They should expand their horizons when voting in new acts-- Madonna ?????????

Lennon played lead on "Get Back" because Harrison had walked out on the group when they were rehearsing the song-- I always thought his lead on that was terrific--think it would have been an entirely different song with George playing lead--- And Lennon's lead playing on "The End" is only a part of it-- all three Beatles( Mccartney, Harrison, Lennon) take turns playing
