I usually hate tribute concerts, but I just saw this DVD for the first time and was totally blown away. Now I may be getting sentimental here, but I was f*cking crying during Billy Preston's version of My Sweet Lord.
Your thoughts if you seen this concert? And if you haven't, look it up on YouTube. Almost all songs are there.
Dylan was playing New York at the time i think, he did "something" for george. It was a download at bobdylan.com This is a pretty good movie, also pretty good record
Yes there are some wild reports of prominent people of this board who cried when Preston did My Sweet Lord.... I did not cry - but it's a very nice concert.

I've never actually cried over someone I didn't know personally. I remember being very upset when George died, but it had been coming for a LONG time.
Well, I'm not one who cries easily, and I don't know why Preston's MSL, or the whole concert really, got to me like this. It's not because Harrison passed away, because like Big Al I don't cry over someone I never met. Perhaps it's the whole setting, the atmosphere, I don't know. It's just very touching.
Anyway, I'm sorry if this concert has already been a topic here. I'll do a board search next time I want to share something ;-).

It's the same for me, I have hardly cried since the 80s - allthough I can be upset of course. Well there are tears coming out if I laugh real hard. I think it's something you can't help - either you are able to cry or you're not.

With Sssoul, I was thinking about someone else - not involved in this thread, but I don't want to mention names..... There has been threads about this Sweet Lord moment before. But you're a prominent member, no doubt.

I love this concert. I was particularly moved when Joe Brown sang "I'll See You in My Dreams" at the end. Many highlights. I really liked Sam Brown's "You Can Lead a Horse to Water". Man, that chick can sing!
Whaaaaaaa.........I'm blubbering like a baby just thinking about it.....the part at the end killed me.......I had to have surgery to my tear ducts I cried so much......installed little faucets to control it better......whaaaaaaaa!!!!!
You guys that don't cry a lot are Heart Attacks waiting to happen....look at women, they cry about anything and live about 10 years longer than men. The Helter cries all the time...... last time was when I got my private area skin caught in my zipper cause the GF came home too soon and her sister was laid out on the bed bare ass naked moanin' like a wounded panda bear.... Damn did that effing hurt, blood everywhere....

Great show! And very moving. Some incredible song selections too. I loved The Inner Light at the beginning, and as was said above Clapton doing While My Guitar was great, and made even better with Paul on piano and doing the high end backing vocals just like on The White Album. A very moving show! Great DVD package out of it which included the full concert.
