Check out the song "Stack-o-lee" sung by Samuel L. Jackson. It's from the movie "Black Snake Moan"

I give the movie a 4 out of a 10 scale, but the scene stealer was Jackson and his blues band playing this.

Is that anything like Stagger Lee?

I think Stagger Lee was an update of the Stack-o-lee song/story.

Not sure if there are any musical similarities, though.

... ill give the movie an 8, the sounds were rivetting, my eyes never left the screen.. . i feel craig brewer artistically did precisely what he wanted to do.
