I met Keith and Charlie. It was at the bottom line in NYC and Charlie was doing his Charlie Parker tribute in July of 1992. We had tickets for the early show. So as luck would have it we were seated one table away from a table that had "reserved" on it. So before the show started we walked upstairs to where they sold the posters and and where the bathrooms and dressing rooms wer

Thanks for the great pictures. If I had the extra money I would love to someday take a "Stones tour" of England.

Last I heard tickets in Brooklyn were not selling. I'm thing you could probably scalp a seat for $100 US on the night of the show. But to anwser the question.....No I am not gutted. I am not going to overpay either. I've seen my fair share of Stones shows and if I never see another so be it.

It sounds more like a Jagger Solo song than a Stones song. It does not have a Charlie Watts signture sound and that really hurts it. All in all I like it, the title and theme of the song is very current.

It reminds me more of a Jagger "Solo" song than a Stones song. Most of all it does not have any Charlie swing. The drums in fact seem mechanical. Of corse I'm saying all this after listening to it for the first time. All in all I like it. Its refreshing that they have "new" sound. Edit: It does sound like Keiths riffs right from the start.. I also Love that they hit th

Quotestupidguy2 Quoteelectricmud QuoteMisterO I was disappointed at the time they realeased "ER" as the lead single. The song had a disco type beat and it seemed like a watered down "Miss you". Disappointed? One of my most embarressing moments as a Stones-fan. Still having Respectable in my ear running out of the charts , waiting and dying to hear the new single, hear it

I remember Ronnie saying he shopped for his grocerys. A little OT: I live in the same town as Bruce Springsteen here in NJ, and I have seen him dozens of times around town over the years. But the one that sticks out in my mind the most is when I saw him in a busy pizzaria on a Friday night at prime dinner time. I walked in and the place was unusally noisy. I just assumed it was school kids.

Charlie really defines the song from the start. Great hi hat, four on the floor effort. I forgot Ronnie played bass on this one, his bass line added a nice layer to the song as well. I was disappointed at the time they realeased "ER" as the lead single. The song had a disco type beat and it seemed like a watered down "Miss you".

I think the worst recored Stones album has to be Got Live If You Want It. The next live album Ya Ya's is a masterpiece. But the difference in quality between them both is night and day. As far as studio recorded albums I'll go with dirty work. I do get what others are saying about Goats Head Soup. But with GHS I think that was the sound of that eras. Just like when I put on Englands

Quoteschillid I did... Philadelphia 1st show of the tour. Bad show, lots of mistakes. A total mess. WORST PERFORMANCE BY THE STONES (OR ANY BAND) EVER. +1 I remember them trying to play Let it bleed. They had to start it over three or four times. The timing was way off, it was like they were each playing a different song. I was right up front and people were booing and Keith gave them th

I was at that show. It was held at Madison Square Arena. Growing up in the area I had friends who were in the Stage Hands Local One. Who told me that Keith was backstage hanging out with Pete Townsend. Coolest moment of the night....Ronnie Wood walked to the back side of the stage hopped over a rail and into a empty seat in the audiance right next some girl who got his autograph. Then he

I had heard all the songs on Let it bleed that were on Hot Rocks. So when a friend of mine from school asked if I wanted to trade Zepplin 4 for "The Birthday Cake Album" (His words) I was not so sure but reluctantly agreed. So I played side one..... Gimmy Shelter.....Already knew it from hot rocks Love in vain......Too slow did not make a great first impression. Of course I cam

I remember seeing it at the Whitney Museum in he early 80's. We had to wait on line for hours. Then after we got into the theator section it was another few hours before it was shown. With all the mystery and hype in the papers back then we thought it was going to be a life changing event!...lol.....I remember being almost bored to tears. The highlight was Keith and Bobby Keys throwing t

I remember the first time I was able to afford good seats to a Stones concert was back in 1981. I had second row seats and was watching the stagehands do there thing and there was Stu on the stage right up by his keyboards. I pointed Stu out to some people down by me in "the good seats" and they had no idea who he was. Stu and Keef Apartment No 9

The only way I'm going to be able to take my wife and kids and not have to sell a kidney is if they play some stadiums. Personally I think the Elvis, Wayne Newton, Celion Dion, Elton Vegas route would be very tacky note to go out on. There the frikin Stones for Gods sake!

To me when I look at the "Bang a gong" video (The one with Elton) Everyone looks so dated except Marc Bolan. He has a timeless rock star look that could easily be accepted now. You really can't say that about many others. No doubt he IMO is the most androgynous performers of all time, not just in appearance but also in delivery.

One that struck me as funny, although you have had to have been there was..... Remember when Ronnie got into that boating mishap in Rio when his boat went on fire and the paparatzi rescued him and the rest of the people on the boat before it exploded? Well anyway, I was at the show in Syrause right after it happened and when it was time for the band introduction Mick said "Here he is s
