My interpretation.....The guilt and shame of heavy drug abuse both there's and my own. Which is why it is actually painful for me to listen to it. The wasted time, the wasted money. The sad empty lives that are brought together to try and escape their reality and numb their pain. I always thought that "Some who broke me up with the corner of her smile" was a young child who wok

I was at the pay per view show. Without question it was the worst audience I have ever sat with at at Stones show. Many of the tickets were given away by Trump as gifts to his corporate friends who were just there because they got free tickets. The was very little feedback/participation from the audience. Listen to YCAGWYW during the sing along part for example. The Atlantic City conventi

I remember SFJ. I had "webTV" at the time and it took forever to load. I made friends with a few people from my local area (NJ/NYC). One guy had an uncle who worked on the Ed Sullivan show and he told me he got a chance to hang out with Brian Jones. I wish I still had the message. It was the one and only time I ever heard an "I met Brian" story. Good times....What year did

The OP should give Pete Seeger's "Turn Turn Turn" a listen to... To suggest that were all trapped in some Stones bubble 24/7 is ludicrous. I can only speak for myself but I'm willing to wager the vast majority of us are well rounded individuals with many other varied interests, musically and otherwise. That said.....It is my belief that OP is the childish one. Not for st

QuoteJumpingKentFlash They should open with it, or maybe have it as the first encore. This..^ Before the Steel Wheels tour all my Stones friends were guessing what song they would open with and none of us guessed "Start me up" in hindsight it was so obvious and I feel "Time is on my side" would be the perfect opening song as well....

Me personally.....I would Love to see them open with "Time is on my side"....I could just picture Keef walking out first playing that little riff than Mick singing the opening words.

I really enjoyed his performance. Very refreshing to see a young performer kick some butt. IMO best halftime show ever.

I don't buy into "the industry is holding the musicians back". If there was great music out there it would find its way out. It seems more to me like its hit a brick wall. It's all be done to death. When I see a young kid at a concert I think back to that Frank Sinatra concert I went to back was I was a youngster. At the time I think I vaguely knew 5 Sinatra songs at best.

I hear what your saying 24 and I agree with a lot of it.. But lets take a step back and think about then and now. Back then the electric guitar was new. Amplification and effects were new. Then you had the British invasion, the counter culture with hippies and long hair...all that was brand new and thats just skimming the surface. The kids now want something new of their own. The bloke w

Rock or guitar music has been in a coma for long long time now. Once in a while there looks like there is a sign of life but in the end we know we were just hoping against hope. There has only been a small hand full of Rock music that has really turned me on in the last 30 years. In my opinion the best music was recorded in the 50's,60's and 70's. That was the golden era. I

I haven't the faintest idea which of the Stones writes their album titles. I vaguely recall Charlie came up with "Between the Buttons" and Keith came up with "Goats Head Soup" but my memory from back then is a little smokey....

QuoteMingSubu So what is Red Bank, NJ like? Anything interesting to do/see, or is it a shithole? Kind of undecided where to get a hotel that night. My plan is to see the show. Then hightail it, up to NYC, for a few days. Red Bank is a pretty cool place. It's smack in the middle of some very wealthy towns in the "Brokers and Bankers" section of NJ. It's a cool little dow

The last great song for me was "You don't have to mean it". I always crank the volume up when I hear it. I'd also put "Brand New Car" up there as a great song. If were going to go back to "Beast of Burden" then I have even more like "Tops" and "She was Hot.

Pay to play has been around a long time. I remember 20 something years ago bands had to sell a certain amount of tickets to be able to perform at certain places. These were usually young bands right out of school. They would be exploited by club owners because they knew young kids in that age group had many friends they could draw in. But lets be honest when you have a band thats in there l

During Charlie's drum opening on "Slave" you can hear a big dog bark in the background and they left it in. Listen to it loud at around 5 seconds into the song.

I went to see Keith at the Beacon in 93. Had 5TH row tickets, got very drunk and walked right up front by where all the pro photographers were. The security grabbed me and asked me to go back to my seat. They asked me to not take any pics...but I did anyway and they took the camera and opened it up so that the film was ruined. I then walked right back up by the photographers and stood right ne

I can count the number of movies I've seen in the last 30 years on one hand. So don't count on me to spend $150 to watch one. Oh well another one of Americas industries on its way out.
