2. I like the lyrics - sort of reminds me of reading the daily news or watching CNN!

5. I kind of get the gorilla now - we've regressed to an earlier era. Less kind, less mannered, more kill to get you want/need.

- I like the tongue too. Artwork is pretty good on this one.
- I have my doubts about the lyrics...but it is ripped from the news obviously.
- Dance yeah...but he said/did things like that before...
- Less kind, less mannered, more kill...there is something of that in it but more convincing to me about that theme is Leonard Cohens The Future (from 1992)...

In general: the artwork in the video is good. The song I think is less than average and doesn't convince me. Nor does the way Keith is playing. Or not playing.

I thought 'boom boom' was a reference to the way Charlie does an autograph - "Charlie Boom Boom Watts". OR, sometimes "Charlie BB Watts".

And I think I now get the vampire-like teeth on the gorilla - we are being bled dry by Wall Street/the banks.

It reminds me more of a Jagger "Solo" song than a Stones song. Most of all it does not have any Charlie swing. The drums in fact seem mechanical. Of corse I'm saying all this after listening to it for the first time. All in all I like it. Its refreshing that they have "new" sound.

Edit: It does sound like Keiths riffs right from the start.. I also Love that they hit the nail on the head with the title and theme of "Gloom and Doom" very current.

I like the video... I usually do not like videos that are simply lyrics to a song.
But this is obviously more than that. Fresh dripping brush typography and virtual camera moves keep it looking clever and fast-paced throughout.

It beats the hell out of any of the 'new cuts' on Forty Licks, the Rough Justice/SOL single, most of Voodoo Lounge, and everything off Bridges to Babylon with the exception of Saint of Me.

Where is Charlie beat and feelings? Charlie don't drum like that. I'm pretty sure its a drum computer.
