QuoteDoxa QuoteGasLightStreet I don't get the reissues for the album, just the extras. In fact, why they bother to include the album in any of the super deluxe releases is pointless. There is a a funny social construction called money that makes funny things happen. But then again it would be funny if someone buys, say, The Super Deluxe Edition of BLACK AND BLUE and finds out that the

So she just, somehow, got backstage at a show and met Jagger which led to a date the next day? Sounds legit. Definitely no aspects of this story being omitted.

Bring us the live audio and video from their golden years. Bring us complete unreleased songs. But I can happily live without ever hearing another demo or alt take.

QuoteBig Al I have no expectations. Mick and Keith are both aged over 80. Anything could happen over the next few years. The problem with mentioning ‘2026’ and ‘2027’ is that I suspect it’s unrealistic to merely assume it’s likely. After ‘2027’, the usual suspects, here, will be mentioning ‘2028’ People should prepare themselves that the band might just stop abruptly. I very much doubt that

They didn’t tour Undercover or Dirty Work. Both Jagger and Richards slid towards solo work. Looking back at that period, it seems to be the most likely point in their career when they could have just fizzled out on the back of two mediocre albums.

QuoteGerardHennessy Quotepowerage78 Talking about 2027 for a band whose two leaders are 81 years old (in 3 months for Keith), it's like dreaming! And in 2030, do you think there'll be a concert in Paris? Well said! A bit of perspective at last. I read this thread and dates way off into the future are tossed about like confetti. The Stones can tour here in 2025, there in 2026 a

Is there any evidence to suggest that the four shows filmed for Ladies & Gentlemen still exist somewhere? We've all seen the alternative versions of MR and Happy but Rocks Off has never ever surfaced. And there were rumours that about an hour of Boston was filmed and was still intact. Not to mention the long-standing rumours about a complete version of one of the NYC shows still exi

QuoteTaylor1 I would love to hear a 1972 live show Doesn’t the Lord of Rings director have some technology he uses to enhance old live recordings? Someone posted here fairly recently about an aborted plan to release the Philadelphia show.

A Voodoo Lounge SDE surprises me but then again, it’s an easy option to rerelease with modern outtakes that don’t require much investment to prep. Maybe we’ll get VL live show with Love is Strong.

QuoteRollingFreak QuoteDan QuoteRollingFreak Very good recording. Any Stones release is better than nothing. Sound is good, playing is good, and its a cool club show with an interesting setlist. About all you can ask for. Having said that, and I'm sure its a broken record excuse, but it just comes so late for it to matter. I'm glad the Stones started opening their vaults in 2011, we&

QuoteBitchKeepsBitchin The Stones have become masters of music marketing. How many times have they released these same songs? I have all of these songs on multiple releases so because there is nothing "new" on this I'm taking a pass. I already have Paris Stripped limited edition from another release, this is for the completist. Or a newbie. We need people to keep buying this stuf

AC/DC released Backtracks, Bonfire and Plug Me In but the band may be unique in having never released any expanded editions of their albums or released any complete live shows from their 1970s and 80s touring peak. Has the band ever addressed why they've never released any live shows or deluxe CDs with outtakes?

CH covers the same ground and both documentaries fall short in stopping around 1981. Possibly understandable for 25x5 as the early 80s were less than a decade away but it’s baffling that CH took the same approach.

I watched a bit of the Toronto Palais Royale club show on YT. It's not bad - Torn & Frayed is a dog's dinner, while If You Can't Rock Me was pretty good - maybe this will be a candidate for a future official release?

@doxa If a live album by the Stones won’t sell many copies, who is persuading the record companies to take a gamble with Dylan and Young’s ongoing live releases? They’re both reasonably popular artists but don’t come close to the Stones. Young’s Anthology set must have cost a fortune to produce but how many copies did it sell?

What the band is likely acutely aware of is that their ability to monetise these legacy shows reduces with each passing year as the original generation of fans passes away. They may have already judged that the business case for investing money in old live shows is weak. Or, that resource should only be applied to shows that require little or no technical intervention to make them fit for pur
