Quotekevinkamphuis Honestly only interested in live material from Mick Taylor era. Let’s pray we finally get a proper 1972 live album release. At least some concerts were recorded on 16-track multitrack Same mate.

Quotedaniel t This is page # 494 on the topic of a Stones' new album... Can't believe people still think there is going to be a new album. The constant recycling of rumours about a non-existent album have been a great way to keep interest up in the band.

@mattlee Your book is fab. I received a copy for my birthday and I’ve really enjoyed seeing your collection. It’s the most interesting Stones book I’ve read in a long time. Cheers!

What could have been an opportunity to showcase new live content has been lazily squandered on hawking the same old studio tracks for the billionth time.

Who knows what the totality of their unreleased archive is? We don’t know what we don’t know. The remaining undeluxed albums probably aren’t worth the time or effort to reissue. I think the best bang-for-buck is an anthology series, maybe decade by decade, with a mix of studio, live audio and live video material.

Two juicy anthologies please. 1 - all the studio outtakes 2 - all the live stuff.

Decided to buy the £15 2 CD edition. Can’t justify spending another £85 for a live show and book I’ll skim thru once.

Voodoo Lounge was a "return to form", but only if you believed the hype machine. If the best stuff made it to this tepid album, the leftovers aren't worth my time. Now an outtakes anthology of their post-1989 material would be a far more interesting prospect.

They didn’t stop after Brian died. He was a founding member who was replaced. The replacement was also later replaced.

QuotePaddy Only Mick, Keith & Ronnie know what has been happening for the last few weeks. It seems they made some plans accordingly with Charlie’s blessing (Steve Jordan) so we don’t know what other plans may have been made. Yep, it's possible they've made an agreement as to what would happen to the band if someone died or retired.

I don't think they'll want to do a tribute show. That isn't their style but I'm sure they'll honour him in some very fitting way.

Take your pick. The 70s stuff sounds better, is better played. The late 80s stuff onwards gets more production gloss, better staging and looks better. There isn't a single film I could say is The Best.

Conspiracy BS aside, CW has probably been advised by his doctor not to travel. His insurance will probably be null and void if he becomes ill and travelled against medical advice. Simples.

Maybe he recovers and rejoins, maybe he bows out now. You have to be pretty cruel to insist an 80yo man keeps touring. Whatever Charlie chooses to do, he's been part of some of the best music ever recorded. Total respect to you Mr Watts Meanwhile, the show goes on...

QuoteMingSubu I'm willing to risk it and willing to infect others, for the stones If you are at risk, or scared. Stay home. Easy as that. Don't be a hypocrite either. Don't bitch and cry the entire pandemic. Then go out to see the stones play. You’re willing to potentially hospitalise people to see a band? I’ve seen some truly idiotic comments here before but you are just

QuoteGerardHennessy QuoteStonedRambler As already mentioned, the main problem with the sound is that the high frequency content above 10k is mostly cut off. Therefore if the record sounds okay to you or not may depend on your hearing. If you still hear a lot above 10k it will certainly bother you, if you don't you can't notice it of course. The same is the case with VL Uncut. I'm

Roskilde 14 was amazing.Last show with Bobby and longest Midnight Rambler ever (one of the best ones too). Glastonbury should be officially released. That's a good show. QuoteJTHanis Why people are bitching and complaining about this release is beyond me. We all knew it was coming for years; they weren't going to let this spectacle languish in the vault. Get it out of the way, and move on.... No one hates the Rolling Stones more than hardcore Rolling Stones fans.

QuoteHairball As a whole I like it better than Undercover and every other album that followed in the latter era, yet think it's one of the weakest albums prior to Undecover and the era that preceeded with Emotional Rescue probably being the weakest. That said, there are some truly great tunes I've always loved from it. On a scale of one to ten: Hot Stuff - 9 - I remember it bla

I absolutely love Keith's funky bass on the SFTD they do with Clapton on this tour. But Jagger completely misses his cues and muffs up the entire vocal. This was a band capable of hitting extreme highs and lows simultaneously in the same song. No easy feat!

VL is average at best. My Dad said at the time that it didn't even sound like the Rolling Stones were playing on it. None of these tracks will ever be played live again (not that they appeared frequently back in 94/95). That's quite telling as to how the band view VL. 5/10.
