Grado SR60's for me, best performance per pound I've had in a set of headphones, although you do look like a World War 2 radio operator when wearing them.

It doesn't read like he manages his own Twitter feed, I imagine Stones PR or his own PR has a hand in authoring them - they'd be incompetent not to get the Stones ok on content featuring them.

It certainly gets hate in the wider world - I don't think the faux Dylan lyrics do it any favours, but I've always thought it was a strong song to be clear.

Song gets a lot of hate but I always thought Jigsaw Puzzle had potential live, especially with an extended outro.

QuoteHairball "Arthritis or age or hitting his head". A combination of all of the above. It used to be his gnarled fingers caused worry amongst fans, then hitting his head was a major scare (which he still takes medication for), and now the fact that he's a ripe old 73+. Put them all together, and it is what it is. I suggest enjoying whatever's left now, because none

Why spend 5 years learning the guitar when you can download a bunch of applications to your laptop and become a "DJ", with no more skill required than pressing CTRL-C and CTRL-V?

Fellow Mag here, after a couple of wobbly performances just flat out relieved we've got the job done. Agree with MadMax, I hope a few of the players who got us promoted get to stay on as a reward, but we really need changes to stand a chance of staying up. I'd add a striker to the wishlist though, I can't see Mitrovic or Murphy scoring in the Premier League if I'm honest.

I think I'm the only person on the planet who gets enjoyment from 'Sing This Altogether'. In fact I must have been dropped on my head as a child because Satanic Majesties is one of my favourite albums of theirs.

QuoteWhat do you play? Do you play it like most tabs and privettricker and riff on E, B and A? Because that doesn't match up on my end. It does for live versions, but not the one on Goats Head Soup. This happens with alot of albums, particularly older ones, where quirks of the recording/mixing/mastering process result in the pitch on the record varying slightly from Standard tuning as your

Quoteliddas Albums: Shake Your Money Maker - good album, strong songs, but the band is still a baby. The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion - excellent album, and very well played. It has what Shake misses. Amorica - Masterpiece. Three Snakes and One Charm - Masterpiece, but 'slightly' inferior to Amorica. Band - Not as good as Amorica and Snakes - It is an outtake after all,

Quotewhitem8 Tricky, thanks for the insight. Are you a long time Crowe's fan? Just curious. I haven't listened to much of the shows, just snippets, so haven't focused on his leads. My brother, is a huge Crowes fan, said "they are a bit rusty..." But he is an uber fan and isn't always objective, probably a lot like I am about The Stones and The Beatles. So your sayin

QuoteGRNRBITW the jackie greene hatred around here is truly appalling. and during this, the most sacred of seasons, too... He seems like a competent musician from his recorded output but his playing on Saturday night was truly shocking, way beyond simply being unfamiliar with the material. It was a huge shame as I thought the rest of the band were on fire.

As evidence of the lack of dedicated techs check alot of tour photos of the Stones on the 69/71 tour - you'll often see guitars leaning up against amps/drum risers on stage, where Mick T and Keith have put them because they need them to hand for later in the set.

I'm not that familiar with Jackie Greene - can anyone recommend some gigs or albums I should check out? I'm hoping a new lead guitarist will shake things up a bit - I hated Luther Dickinson's playing style with a passion so this line-up change is most welcome for me. (Really I'm hoping Marc Ford has changed his name to Jackie Greene.) Quotemr edward Pffff, I'll never g

QuoteDandelionPowderman LOL! Keith rarely drinks anymore. How fooled can u get by a little media show off? Not sure if you're serious but I was up front at the Isle of Wight 2007 and KR was steaming drunk. It was brutally obvious to the crowd.

The article actually reads like a break - up : it's almost as if they're taking the opportunity to say "Well here's what I REALLY think..." They don't seem to be very interested in maintaining the veil of unity any more (which is a good thing IMO). If their attitude is like this at the START of the tour, what's it going to be like after 6-12 months?

They should price it as cost neutral - if they're doing it for the fans charge enough to cover costs, donate a percentage to a local charity, and stream each concert on their .com site for registered users. Max ticket price on the day £100. This way the band do something good for the community, and they reach out and say thanks to those long standing fans suffering financially who can wat

QuoteDaniel Nienkemper The Stones are for me "the biggest disapointment" of the day!!! I think it's time to sell my complete stones-archive... it doesn't feel like Rock'n'Roll anymore... it feels like big business and that's not what I prefer... @#$%&'n'Rollin' Stones, so sad, sad, sad I understand where you're coming from but their attitud

Yep this is a low - it's like going to McDonalds for your 50th Wedding Anniversary. Still its an adequate reflection of their attitude for the past 30 years. The Stones are dead, long live the Stones.

I don't get why this album gets so much hate. I just don't understand why Gomper and Sing this altogether (See what happens) were included when the Satanic Sessions features songs with a lot more promise. Stick Dandelion and We Love You on the official release and you've got yourself a cracking album.

QuoteMathijs This really is the most appalling of any performance I have heard of the Stones. What the fvck is going on here? Jagger sings the lyrics of Whip. That's true. But what are the others playing? Wood is just belting out an A and D chord, as is Jagger. Darryl Jones is as groovy as a North-Korean soldier’s march. But Richards? Does he have a clue what song he's playing? What key

I'm up to (about) 1970 so far and I think I'm done with it. It just seems to be another brand awareness exercise from Rolling Stones (inc.) to bolster Keith's ridiculous outlaw image and shift a few more tickets for the next tour.

That Jimmy Johnson article is excellent - can't open the link at work but from what I remember he says Keith's guitar was "definitely black with two cutaways" - which for that tour would be his 335/345/355 rather than an SG.
