Quotenkt44 QuoteSquiggle QuoteGazza Here's the first bit - judge for yourself : That looks pretty good. The Brian-Anita relationship seems believable, with Anita being neither simply the victim of some versions (“You didn’t come to Marrakesh to worry that you’ve beaten up your old man so much he’s lying in the bath with broken ribs" ) nor the scheming mastermind of other versions

I agree with you Doxa on Dylan as a recording artist. I think he continues to do interesting things and to challenge himself and us. My impression of him as a performing artist is different however and maybe unfair, as I have seen him relatively few times and never at his peak. I always come away thinking he is simply uninterested in live performance - touring maybe because he has to promote th

I'm afraid Jerry Hall has always had a) a big mouth and b) a very tenuous connection to the truth. She has in the past claimed she and Mick were responsible for getting Keith off drugs and I have heard her on a tv interview actually claim that she never employed a full time nanny - at one point they had two! Let alone her absurd claims that Mick never paid the bills and she honestly believ

Quotesaulsurvivor Nonsense. The Stones are as highly regarded as anyone by many "historians". At that level of accomplishment, it's all a matter of taste. The Stones have been, arguably, the most influential band of all time. And they are certainly the greatest. Dylan and The Beatles are brilliant, but I'd put Dylan far ahead of the Beatles when it comes to influence and accom

Quote1cdog An earlier comment said Hall received $3 million from Jagger as settlement. Is that accurate? Was Jagger and Hall ever legally married? Jagger and Hall were never married. The ceremony they participated in was not legal in Bali and was therefore not recognised by the UK either. The precise details of the annulment settlement were not made public (as was then usual) but have bee

QuoteRip This QuoteLady Jayne Quotenkt44 Jerry Hall was a very successful (an rich) model who at the time dated Bryan Ferry. Many women at the time thought she was crazy leaving a 'catch' like Ferry for an old man like Jagger. Quotenkt44 1) I fail to see how any women can be viewed as a 'gold digger' just because she married (or got involved with) a rich and successful man when she stayed with him for 20 years and gave him 4 kids. It's not like he scraped her of the sidewalk. She had a career; she gave it up to stay at home. That makes most women who married well and decided to stay at home and raise

I seem to recall reading Keith agreeing that Mick has effective veto on most day to day performance issues (set list etc) because as frontman he's the one most in the firing line. It's pretty obvious Mick also has a greater influence on day to day management issues simply because he's the one who can be bothered with the detail. The original three presumably have to agree on the &

Why would Bill want back in? He seems to be content as he is. He looks healthy and happy with his young family, enjoys performing his music and looks back on his Stones history without rancour. He obviously doesn't have any money worries - clearly his metal detecting is a much cheaper hobby than Charlies equine breeding and car collecting!!

I was too young to see them live in the early 70's but I have seen a recording of an Old Grey Whistle Test programme (I think) where Keith is being interviewed and is clearly going in and out of it before our very eyes, although remarkably lucid when he talks. His teeth are in a terrible state too. Someone here will know the date I'm sure.

Quotecc QuoteLady Jayne Nice that he makes the point that making music isn't just about making money but something which gives pleasure throughout your life. Easy for him to say but true all the same. that is a nice point, but where does he make it? I don't see it... QuoteCindyC Here's another beautiful one of Keith & Patti. I would guess this is probably around '86 or '87 since I believe that's a Vicky Tiel dress and those were pretty fashionable around then. Anyone know? I love Patti's hair when it was slightly more reddish than the way she wears it now. Sorry - don't know the photographer. Than

QuoteRocky Dijon You could also turn it around on Mick. The truth is they've both said and done plenty of shitty things. Keith may be the more public offender of the two, but the guilt is on both sides and hardly limited to offenses against one another. Probably true. But Mick has always had the class to keep his mouth shut about it in public. Which makes him the bigger man of the two im

Personally, I think there is something slightly tacky about writing your autobiography in the first place. I know folk like the easy money and pontificate that it allows them control over the story but if you're really rock and roll why justify yourself in writing and sell your private life? It also kind of suggests an over inflated sense of self importance. Frankly, I'll buy it and r
