the first stones song I liked was Under My Thumb, and that was when I was around 12. and a few years later I liked Time is on My side. Then, once I got into Miss You it was over. There was no turning back. I became a full flegged fan. Beast of Burden Just put me over the top. After that point I just started getting into more and more of their songs and albums.

I highly recommend the movie "standing in the shadows of Motown". its about the band who played for all of mo towns groups. they were called the Funk Brothers.

rooster, yeah its the same riff. Walk Away Renne is good. thats actually a cover. the left bank did if first. The Four Tops greatest hits CD I have is really good. I forget the name, Its a blue CD, it has almost 30 songs on it. a must have in any music collection IMO.

The Four Tops is actually the first group that I really got into. The first time I heard Bernadette, I was BLOWN away. Same with Same Old Song. I still prefer their songs to the Temptations. But I like both groups.

Ive noticed a pattern with the stones Albums of this period. every other album They came out with was a pretty eclectic, somewhat experimental album, followed by a comparitavley more "meat and potatoes" kind of album. I like Love You Live, but by the time they get to JJ flash and Brown sugar mick is barely signing. Its cool in its own way though and hes still audible. Sympathy is really cool with the steel drum marching band.

This might be off topic (ha.......ha................ha.. um), but I think they should have music playing when you go on this site. Obviousley i have stones music in mind, but you could put other stuff on ocassionaly too. Is this even possible? Ive only seen music play on websites when you first log on, but then it goes away. I just think it would be really cool to have that.

Yeah, I really like that album. Its all really good to me. If I had to pick a top three from it, No Expactions wouuld be in it. Id have to pick Jigsaw Puzzle too. Maybe Stray Cat Blues as number three. I don't know though, its a hard one. every track is a stand out.

I think its good to keep in mind this is a STONES message board, but an ocassional OT post is OK IMO. on the otherhand, i have no problem with leaving politics out, I learned my lesson there. the thing is, if you dont feel like talking off topic, then dont respond. A thread can die out really quickly if no one responds to it. It can get pushed aside really fast.
