Truthfully I've really not had that much respect for Keith since I was a teenager and through it was cool to be a junkie rock star. That's not cool at all. What I think is pretty cool is the fact that Mick put up with a drug addicted junkie for all those years and really never said a bad word about it. I might be wrong but I always thought Mick took the high road and didn't disc

I don't know about their early shows but by the 80's they certainly hit and miss. I saw a fantastic show on the Give the Poeple What they Want tour and a year or 2 later saw a completely awful show promoting the album after that. One of the greatest highlights of my concert going was to see Ray Davies perform with Yo La Tengo, A great band in their own right. It was in NYC in 2000.

QuoteHappy Jack Village Green and Arthur are two musts for Kinks fans, and music fans in general. Two great albums. Absolutely and without a doubt 2 of the finest albums by the Kinks and by anyone in the 60's. Required listening, no studying, for any person who is serious about music.

Awful song and awful lyrics, Gunface is one of those songs I listened to once when I bought the album and never listened to again, hearing it now reminds me why I don't listen to it. I only liked a few songs on B2B and the others make me cringe.

Quoteopen-g Quotewith sssoul >> one Keith interview ... where he said he smoked about a half a pack a day until photo shoots came along << there's a video of that - i'm sure someone around here has a link to it: someone's asking Keith about a photo - whether he agrees that it epitomizes rock & roll. "well it did that day," says Keith :E then the

Quotefrankotero My guess is they could sell out as many stadium dates they wish to play. Remember there were 20 million applicants for the O2 gig. Surely that includes people applying several times. Still I think it's a good indicator of how much people want to see Led Zeppelin. And from the recordings, both audio and video of that show, they absoutely KILLED it! By far the greatest "

QuoteDoxa The Stones couldn't survive the 60's without Brian, but they couln't have survived the 70's with him... I think the Stones have been very lucky - if that is anything to do with luck - for having their "third man" behind Mick and Keith, and front of Charlie and Bill. Brian was probably one of the most talented musical visionalists - a walking musical adve

Wow, such excellent responses. I think I have a new understanding of Brians importance in the band for that time. I wonder if the best thing for both band and him were for him to leave, maybe not under those circumstances though. The band obviously were changing into a standard rock band, drums, bass and guitars with piano and his fluorshes might not have fitted in. He may have started the

Quotealimente QuoteNICOS overdubbs I guess that in 1966/67 the world was not ready for a rough & ready live album, at least the record companies thought so. The thing is that by doctoring with the original raw recordings they made it worser, not better. There is the Kinks live at Kelvin Hall and the Live Small Faces tracks on In Memorium. Still WAY too much screaming, maybe thats just

Quotepunkfloyd Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm not sure I could pick out Brian Jones on any songs during his era. On what songs can I hear him play a riff or something? Back to the original question...I've often wondered what the big deal about Brian was all about. I know he started the band and he played a few different instruments but did he do anything that was s

QuoteRip This Matt Lauer didn't mince any words with Keith re: raising a child in that environment....and Keith to his credit didn't skip a beat....Marlon's a 42 yr old man.... That has got to be one of the stupidest questions! What does that have to do with music!!!

QuoteThe Sicilian Pete's hat, scarf and shades just didn't cut it lookswise. We all know he can play. Roger looks too husky and he hair looks fake. He seems like he is wheezing at the mike. He did not sound good at all. I though they looked pretty good for a couple of old geezers and Pete just gets better with age! I think his playing is better now than in was 20 or 30 years

QuoteAdrian-L He's an original maverick, has been responsible for some wonderful music, over the years, (not to mention one ofthe best autobiographies i've ever read), and i'd love to go for a pint with him and hear his stories. I agree with everything positive said here, The world is a far better place because he is here. He may get ridiculous sometimes but that is also

I happen to think your mix is wonderful! I love this album and I really love your instrumental mix of it. This is something I have been wanting to do myself for years but just couldn't get around all 8 cd's of the sessions. Thank you very much!

Quotegeorgelicks Quote71Tele Not a chance, the Stones' sales are in an all time low, they are selling worse than the Ramones. A Brussels release could move 50k tops, the potential buyers already have the album in boot form and the general public is not interested in the Stones as physical product. Oh really, is that a fact or speculation?

How funny, everybody has their own opinions and favorites. I happen to really like Undercover, I hold it up there with Some Girls and Goats Head. I even like Goats Head more than Exile! Blasphemy, I know!! I really do not like DW, SW or Bridges but I really love ABB, not very song but most of them. Wait can't forget how much I like Emotional Rescue, I love that album, listen to it all t
