QuoteBingo As a NY'er who went down there to work 4 days after 9/11. You can't describe in words the scene down there. It's like watching a movie, you only get to see and hear it. The other senses can't appreciate the full effect. You eliminate, smell, taste and touch. The smell was nothing like I ever smelled before, and you realized this once you got down there. The taste th

Quoteloog droog QuoteKSIE "Sandinista" by the Clash has several genre experiments in dub and psychedelia that I originally had trouble "accessing". But, over the years I've come to really appreciate it, as a nice eclectic artistic expansion. My take on Sandinista is that there was a great single disc album in there. Making a three-record album was a misguided act of

Quotekowalski QuoteJJFI heard that a few hardcore fans had it and wanted to keep it for themselves. Supposedly it was ripped from the producer's computer in 2006. Then one hardcore guy got greedy and wanted money for selling it. That's the story AFAIK. thanks for the infos! These tracks are demos at best, not the final album though. Not bad for Demos at best, they sound great.

QuoteMore Hot Rocks They spared them the pain of the worst tour ever by The Stones. 78 was a joke. Why do you say that,? I love the 78 recordings, the band sound on fire.

Notice how GnR imploded after Izzy left, just shows how important he was to that band, they couldn't write and original song after he left. I think Slash is so overrated. Slash might have been the balls but Izzy was the heart and soul of that band.

Izzy's solo stuff is consistently quality rock and roll. His acoustic album is excellent. You can't go wrong with any of his solo stuff. Stones fans would probably like the Ju Ju Hounds album the best. Wish he would tour more.

QuoteSleepy City QuoteHis Majesty Quotetomk It's a great record. I never really thought of it as a psychedelic record, English psychedelia I mean. Piper summed that up. There's nothing about gnomes, childhood memories, eiderdowns, etc. Maybe if it had come out at the same time as the We Love You single (August), the critical response would have been different. Back then, a few months wa

QuoteEdward Twining QuoteMathijs QuoteEdward Twining Quoteneptune . Mathijs Yes, you are right, but the sixties was really the Stones time. They represented the sixties in a way that's not true of the seventies, because amongst other things, a younger generation was growing up around them, and they were no longer reflections of youth culture etc. I have always believed their relevanc

QuoteHis Majesty Quotecoffeepotman But I like it as part of my compilation CD. I think it's fits nicely right after 2000 light years and before the last minute of See What Happens. The last song being On With the Show. Be as well sticking any song from any era if it fits then. That's the joy of making your own compilation, you can put what ever you want on it

QuoteHis Majesty For the last time, Child of the Moon may have been attempted in 1967, but the released version and the satanic session outtakes were recorded in 1968 thus it cannot be part of an album released before that time. . I really like the song's I chose for the compilation, I think this album stands (or falls) on it's own, you can't compare it to Sgt. Pepper, Piper, Doors, Hendrix, VU or any other psychedelic classics of the time. I liked reading through the old threads, seems like this is a love/hate kinda record.

I've always loved the Satanic Majesties album just as it is but I've made comp cd with songs that have that certain vibe from that period and came up with a nice collection. I already know they weren't all recorded at the SMSR sessions. 1 Sing this all together 2 Citadel 3 2000 man 4 Dandelion 5 We Love You 6 She's a Rainbow 7 The Lantern 8 Gomper 9 2000 Light Year
