Do you like them?
I know Spike almost is on the Faces Staff after the reunification, but what about them? Stones influences, best albums, etc...

Good band, I hung with out Spike more than a few times out here in Hollywood. He was really into Rev.Gary Davis & Tina Turner, in fact when the Quireboys were signed to Capitol records he was writing songs with Tina in mind!

I'll be at this one - Apr 27 - Paul Rodgers with special guests Joe Elliott’s Down ‘N’ Outz - Royal Albert Hall but I'm not sure whether Spike will be.Joe is the vocalist but at the Mott the Hoople gig Spike did come on to sing lead on one song.

the quireboys were englands answer to THE BLACK CROWES. they had that older stones/faces vibe except they leaned more towards the faces due to singer spike's voice sounding like rod stewart. their first album A BIT OF WHAT YOU FANCY is a modern classic of rock n roll. here are some of their songs i like:

this one has a very "exile on main street" feel to me

a good clapton cover that they make sound less cheesy and yes i know the original by clapton was a very emotional tune:

last song i'll post:

Love this band. Check out Roses and Rings - eerily similar to Maggie May.

They opened for the Stones at Newcastle in 1990.

As Stones/ Faces fan you just had to like them.
Their first album was very good. And they were hot on their early gigs.

No Spike. Down & Outz very good. Rodgers brilliant. Still got that voice.

May have been the British version of the Crowes, but they sounded like a poor man's Cinderella. Tom Keifer's voice and guitar playing was much better though.

I loved their first album, but their problem was they were took rock'n'roll pastish, everything they did sounded or looked like something else. I mean check the live video, they look like Bon Jovi circia 1984. The music was very Faces, it was good but very faces, but the nail in the coffin was Nirvan\ and the grunge movement. Just when they looked like they could get big Grunge came along and all of a sudden they looked about ten years out of date and sounded far too main stream. They just died after that.

I saw them about 10 years ago in a very great concert. At the end of the show, they invited people from the audience incl. me on stage. That was a cool rock 'n roll party.

these are a great band, seen them many many times over the years and will be seeing them in them at this years Hard rock hell, which they seem to be at every year.

always fancied getting spike to do the vocals for the faces on the reformation, instead of the ginger one, would certainly help the rock n roll credentials of the new incarnation of the faces, but you can't have everything.

Spike appears to live pretty local to me now. How that happened i'll never know. It's hardly RNR central

Saw them in the U.S. touring for their first album, tickets were a whopping $1.

Good show, still have a shirt from the tour (which doesn't fit anymore!).
