On the road... Masterpiece. Kerouac was the original wild one. A fast typist too 90 words a minute... He probably invented the prototype of the young american rebel which influenced characters played by Brando, James Dean. Then those characters on the big screen probably influenced early rockers from the 50's... Yes. It is a great song. Many chords in there, great guitar work. The lyrics are also very good. Like Out of Control on BTB, LIS is a proof that the stones are still great songwriters, as good as they were in the 60's,70's and 80's. I don't believe in saying that they were once great and that now they are not as good. Greatness shows sporadically. An amazing show, a great tune

Thank for the read. Some good questions there. Mick almost acknowledges that ABB is a Mick's album. To me it sounds like it. Thank you Thierry

I just bought A bigger Bang 2hours ago. I am listening to it for the third time and it is pretty good. I only paid $10 at Best buy. The fact that they spent most of their time at Mick's "house" to make the album certainly save them lots of money instead of renting a studio. Is there a relation beetwen the saving and the low cost?? Rock and Roll, mops

I love A bigger bang. The rawness, the directness, whatever other nesses one can add. But what about those Keith's backing vocals that make some of the Stones songs sound Stone like the songs on Exile. Not much of those special backing vocals on ABB. I think it would have made that album even better, less of a mick and more of a Glimmer Twins album. Rock and Roll, Mops

That one is for the guitar players. Any of you using the pod have tips with sounds related to the "stones sounds" coming out of it. I play a Gibson ES335(1968). She is red and I bought it in 1986 in Paris. It's a beauty!! I use the pre-selected position "8c". I got a nasty sound that reminds me of Keith's sound circa 78. Tell me if you have any pre-selected sounds t

2773. What if?
What if Ronnie can't finish the Tour? No disrespect. I love Ron. I wish him well. I am sure the stones will continue the tour. What replacement would they pick. Although Mick Taylor seems like an obvious choice, I don't think they would ask him. Whoelse out there would be a good choice? A super star or a professionnal, somebody like Darryl, great player and 100% reliable. Tell me your p

I just read the new Keith and Mick interview for the detroit show on rollingstone.com . I noticed that Keith several times makes reference to things "getting bigger". That makes me believe that the idea of A bigger bang, comes from Keith may be more than from Mick. Like the Woodoo lounge was more a Keith imagery, the big bang theory seems to be in Keith's mind right now. The stones

Was Keith Richards the first one to carry a guitar the way he does now, almost down to his knees? In the 60's all the guitar players carried their piece up almost around the neck. Then in the 70's it went away down, with lots of style. Is keith the inventor of cool posturing with a guitar? It looks ten times better when the guitar is down although it is more difficult to play. But, hey

Once I went to La fourchette in the loire Valley ,France. That day the door of the property was open, so I entered. I walked on the long alley that took me to Mick's beautiful mansion. They were a couple of carpenters working on the roof. I asked them if Mick Jagger was home and to my surprise they said yes. They told me he was in the garden. I walked around the mansion and I saw 3 persons

One of my two favorite albums is Sticky Fingers. All the songs are great without an exception. The album cover is fanstatic. "Some girls" has also the same qualities. Sticky is very dark; there isn't any fun in there. Some girls is the opposite; it is all about fun and a big laugh. Both of them are my favorites. Rollmops

"Streets of Love" sounds so much like "Old habits die hard" which one got rewarded by the establishment that I believe somebody in the Stones camp must have thought it would make a solid first single. It is strange because Mick and Keith said on at Julliard that the new album was going to be hard rocking and then as a first single we get a ballad. Anyway, I love the songs fr

So you don't like the new material. Do you like the Stones? If I had those same feelings that you have, I would stop bothering about them. Your criticism may make sense, but why do you keep listening or being interested by them?

I heard SOL and it sounds like an Alfie's outtake. Mick got rewarded for Alfie if I remember correctly so that is why the stones execs picked that one as a first single. That song sounds 100% Jagger. Since Mick and Keith have started their solo carreers, it has changed the way I hear the stones. Before 85 all the songs were Mick and Keith for me. Now I hear who is writing what and as a end r

I am with you man. I feel the same way towards Ronnie. Lately I have been thinking about him and pretty much reach the same conclusion. Plus I just read a "sort of" review of the next album somewhere on the internet that says that ronnie barely play on it. On songs like "sastifaction" Ron's guitar is so low and "unspectacular" just the sequence on cords(E,A,B,D)
