Most of the 80's music sucks especially the mid 80's.What I don't like about the 80's music is the sound of the drums. That splashy shitty sound that @#$%& like Phil collins "invented" and for whatever reason became hip for a while. Mick's 2 first albums were made to be commercial successes and he embraced that 80's sound (Collins, madonna, Prince, P Gabri

Chef in a Washington Dc restaurant with a nice picture of Keith on one of the kitchen walls.(from a DC show on the NoSecurity Tour). Although my team doesn't care that much about the Stones, they dig the picture. Working in a kitchen is like playing in a rock and roll band, lots of tension and stress but when they open the cage you got to deliver fast and then it feels good;it's a team

Mick and keith made "sharing the mic" a cool thing. The beatles did it before but it was not the same than Mick and Keith. Aerosmith did their own version of it.It seems that sharing the mic represents the time when they were perceived as the glimmer twins, a tight unit. Then starting in the 80's they became more independent of each other,no more mic sharing no more interviews of t

I don't get tired of music but I sometimes enjoy complet silence. Sometimes there is something more exciting than listening to music. Sometimes not. But music has a pavlov's dog effect on me(minus the drooling); I respond to it even more if it's the Stones. Music rules! Mops

The music and shows of 1978 are pure rock and roll!! Keith played fast and mean and the sound of his guitars is perfect. Physically, he is still a little static compare to 1981. Mick sang like a punk rocker(Star Star,All down the line). The whole band was pretty good Rock and roll Mops

Silver Train rocks!! It's pure glam rock that video is good (it is also an underrated song). Mick jagger is hilarious in that one. I guess he was young enough to pull that type of gay shit and get away with it. But it is entertaining to watch. In the recent videos, the silliness is gone and the seriousness that replaces it bores the shit out of me. Rock and roll, Mops

I got depressed watching that video!! With" Fool to cry" in the background and those awesome @#$%& minor chords adding to the subject matter. Whoever was in charge of producing that video did a good job at making the viewer feel like shit! Which is normal in a way cos it is sad when a tour ends, although more may come. Mops

I believe when the stones are making big bucks by doing foto shoots and private concerts for the very very rich, they do it because they take money from coorporations that are more powerful and richer than them and they get a kick out of that. I remember reading in a book, how Keith Richards was excited by the idea of getting paid just to a have a picture taken with some big executives. For him it

So it was a joke. I don't question your affection for Keith, my friend but at telling jokes you are indeed "overrated" I am still trying to figure out where and why I should laugh? Mops

Honky Tonk Woman stolen from the great Hank Williams. Ry Cooder is just another theft , a skilled one like the great Keith Richards.Personally I disagree with you,he is rated as he should as a great and dedicated musician who created The Rolling Stones. I don't want to imagine what would have been the Stones without Keith! Another Rod Stewart act! It is strange to me that people are questio

Nils Lofgren said he wrote "Keith don't go" in 1975 after he heard a rumour that Keith wanted to quit the Stones. It is the only time I have heard that Keith wanted to quit his band. Nils is good but he isn't a rolling stone. Ronnie was the best and only choice for the Stones. I am glad Ronnie eventually agreed to join in. Thank Rockman, Mops

I love every tour that the Stones have made but I believe 1978 is the best. It rocks hard, Mick gets loose for once, using profanity in between songs which make the shows sound real and wild. That's is rock and roll, baby Rock and roll, Mops

"Cry Though" is a very good album. His trademark guitar sound(at the time) was playing harmonics on his strat. It has an Hendrix feel to it but he goes a step further at mastering that technique. The songwriting is good too. Nice rendition of The Yardbirds "For your love" His voice is very peculiar and catchy. The next album " I came to dance" was to commercial. Not

Nils is featured in The Wolfgang Vaults and the little write up about the show mentionnes something about the "Keith don't go" song. It says that in 1975, it was thought that Keith wanted to leave the Stones! I had never ever heard that before. I believed that the song was about Keith killing himself with drugs. But Keith quitting his band,I don't think so! Mops

Midnight Rambler live and studio versions are great. Do we have to explain why again? Everybody knows it's a great song and The Stones themselves enjoy playing it a lot compare to let's say when they play "Don't stop" Midnight rambler goes the way a good story goes; good intro, lots of changes and tension,a climax with an happy ending!!! Dave Marsh also suggested in an article that the Rock and Roll of fame should be renamed Rock of fame. His argument was that the term "Rock and roll" wasn't representing the music anymore. I believe that is a stupid idea. Rock and Roll is the best thing America has invented! Don't touch it. Rock and Roll, Mops

"Slide on this" is a great album. I still listen to it once in a while and I enjoy it. To me it is his best album. With Bernard they form a great pair musically. The sound is fantastic and all the songs are very well crafted. His guitar playing is versatile;electric, accoustic, slide, B-bender, steel. "Slide on this" rocks Mops

While the early Gene Vincent's music is fantastic this should not stop people from listening to what Gene did in the late sixties & very early seventies. It is different but it is good. I just bought the 2 last albums he recorded. They have been put together on one CD called "500 miles" Gene sounds good and most of the tracks are well done. It isn't rockabilly music. It re

Why makes everything relative to big $$$. I love the stones because they are a good rock and roll band. Who cares if they don't fill up the stadium!! Imagine if instead of playing the stadium they had sold out 2 times a small arena in Chicago. People will think that they are successful. So $$$ don't matter. It is the music and the music is still very good so they should keep on playing

The guy is a "critic" which to me means he doesn't do anything. He sits down and writes about others who are actually doing something. I don't mind criticism even negative if it is based on facts. When it is only subjective, it is worthless; but here I am turning myself into a critic. Mops
