"I cannot forget the warmth in Springsteen's eyes as he was on stage with them. It was beautiful to watch. There was no competition on that stage. Just sheer joy". jumpingkentflash ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You're right jumpingkentflash -- It was a thing of beauty. Despite the ppv marketing and worldwide aud

Another incredible show. The Rolling Stones had Newark buzzing all night. Not much to add, you all saw & heard it. Here are a few shots from the street and the rafters.

Someday I am apt to get an app but for now I am more apt to call my friend pat I agree this may be an unintentional clue. My prediction (hope) for 2013. After a nice long holiday season break the Stones anno

Still can't get over what a great show they put on last night. I know we'll get some great high-res pix from the pit later today, but until then here are some shots I took from sec 9. They're very grainy because I had to push the iso and zoom - but I think you'll get the idea of the intensity of the show. And like pushing the overdrive on an amp, the distortion sometime he

They haven't played Respectable with this much intensity since 1978. No more posing. No more Vegas. Just playing like a band with something to prove.

Much better than Brooklyn. Best show I've seen since No Security tour. I was worried that they might have an off night trying to save something for Saturday. But they just killed it all night long. The guitar break in Respectable was pretty special Mayer->Wood->Richards->Mayer. Watch the video. Just 3 guitarists having fun playing Chuck Berry riffs and working the crowd and Mic

Quotehbwriter mayer is not a "wannabe" - he's an "is" - the guy is great - great to see young guys celebrating the blues Absolutely. He "is" the real deal. When asked on an onstage interview (when he played with Eric Clapton on GMA a few years back) how kids can get into music. He said something like: forget guitarhero and all this digital stuff -- just lock

Quoteohotos Quotesuperrevvy Ok, let's see, the richest geographical area in the richest country on earth is broadcasting a telethon into Nigeria and Bangla Desh to raise money to rebuild the boardwalk for Snooki... Oh yeah, this makes so much sense. So don't worry, the world has not lost its mind. I get your point, but I was in the area last weekend (Brooklyn) and where I walked

Anger at the Guests Like many of the IORRers in the states I was very disappointed Mick Taylor wasn’t at the Brooklyn show. I love the work he did with the Stones and thought Plundered My Soul was the best official Stones release in years. This is a tough crowd and I understand the anger directed towards the guests, but I think some of it is misplaced and out of line. The Stones were em

Quotebv I don't want to compare shows. It is not fair. Not to the Stones. Not to those who are there. Some times the crowd and the band are in sync. Other times they are not. You do not rate your wife or your children based on their performance day by day, but you just love them, and respect them. Just like the Stones. For me. I could write up a long list of issues and problems. Like the

Who else is planning on attending? Could you say that again, but with a Brooklyn accent? I was born in the Bronx & grew up in NJ, but I think I can help. "On a whim I just us

Quotepaulm Quotegotdablouse Macca on IWBYM would be tops but yeah...will his head fit in? They'll probably let him get the last slot so that might help. Macca on bass, Mick Taylor on lead, with MJ, Keith and Charlie would be the DREAM. With so many other artists on the bill, not sure Taylor will join them, but I think it's likely one of these will happen Macca on bass for IWBYM

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteSilver Dagger The song is about danger and threat and she brought that element out better than anyone since Merry Clayton. Florence was dangerous live, she took the game to Mick and you can tell he wasn't sure how far she was going to go with it. This was true art, unfolding under our very eyes. It wasn't about slick, Vegas-style showbiz with every move

Quotehbwriter dang, look at the old garden Yeah - nothing like the Stones in MSG. I've seen them there a few times, but missed the big 3: 1969, 1972 & 1975. Really wish I could have seen those shows, but I was too young at the time. I wonder if anyone on this board saw all 3 of those Stones tours at MSG.
