Why take Gaga so serious? I laughed all the way through her performance. She brought a good deal...
And yes, I think even the mighty Jagger was scared of her at times. There was a close-up of her when they were standing close together, and she looked like a bruiser. I've noticed about her that while she is a pretty good musician, as a performer and pop icon she has no grace at all; no elegance. She is in your face, over the top; like a loud cartoon. Sort of like Kiss. She is the new Kiss.

Yes Gaga is the new Kiss! Spot on!
Scary monster Gaga!!

I'm happy.

Bruce rocked it. GaGa, oh well, she was fun to watch. The Black Keys were great. John Mayer and Gary Clark, Jr. cooked.

Great show.

Nice to read that people seem to be happy about the concert.

[For my own part I discovered the quoted possibility a little late, and after that I did not handle it right. Obtained sound for a while, but not picture, and then trying in vain to obtain picture, I instead lost the sound too. Rather heavily frustrated now, but must try to forget.]

I heard all of Midnight Rambler though before I lost the sound.

Try that link again! winking smiley they're repeating the stream.
AdBlock is good way to get rid of unwanted clutter.

>>And Gaga can sing - I couldn't stop laughing at/with her - she is a scream. First time I ever heard her, and that outfit was totally mad. What an eccentric character<<

+1 Rotflmao

Great to know they repeat the stream, but I didn't find out until the repeat was half over. Are they due to repeat the stream again at some point? Do you have any idea of their schedule?

One thing I couldn't understand at all is why people would cellphone video a show that was streaming on the Internet.

Oh,and I almost fell out of my chair when Chuck counted in Get Off Of My Cloud.
It starts with the drum beat for chrissakes.

That said, his contributions seemed tasteful tonight.

Keith---please sing more backup vox!!!

STONE OWN!!!!!! FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!!! NO WAY THEY STOP NOW...
Tomm any people to please..... to much money to be made.

I agree. Look for multi-night residencies in several cities next year.

Of course there will be more shows. As Mick was starting band intros he did say "...And we hope to see you again soon!" That doesn't sound like a retirement speech to me.

Just got back to the hotel...very tired, but I have to say it was such an incredible show. The energy level at the pru was amazing and those guitars, OMG, as the kids say.

Her hair is far too long to be Brian-esque. I think an earlier poster in this thread had it more spot on in comparing her look to Cousin It from the Addams family.

After watching Midnight Rambler again I have to say that Keith's rhythm part sounded best to me, I'll also admit it was my favorite part of the 69 version as well. That rhythm part just carries the song all the way thru. I never liked the sound of Taylor's guitar. It really sticks out of the flow just like at Brussels. His guitar sound not his playing.

Springsteen on TD was a bad fit. He looks more like a excited fan than a contributing guest. He style really contrasts with the Stones. He is too blue collar for them. He looks too countryish with that bowlegged bounce and fist pumping. To rah rah for me.

The show tonight was stunning! Absolutely fracking stunning! Mich Taylor was the alpha guitar, but kudos to Ronnie too. He played some fantastic stuff tonight. Especially his lead on Going Down, full on Faces furry. Also his playing on Dead Flowers was beautiful. Mick was in amazing voice, really one of the best live vocal performances of his career. An incredible celebration of their 50th and Mick sings consistently good the entire show. A true highlight. He was so focused and putting so much feeling into his performance. I am stunned. A grand grand night indeed! Thank you Rolling Stones!

I am not a musician, so why did Charlie put on head phones for SFD?

So he could hear the recorded drums and play along to them with precision.

Agree 100%. I was at both Newark concerts and Mick's voice has been consistently unbelievable.

John Mayer and Gary Clark and the choir were the only guest worth having, the rest were a distraction, at best. I LOVED ALL THOSE GUITARS... and it worked.

Just wondering if the band/MJ said anything about the kids in CT?

As I expected Mick gave a heartfelt message to everyone about the tragedy. No songs were omitted, not even the Doom and Gloom video.

Perfect way to handle a situation he had to deal with.

Thanks Stones.

Another incredible show. The Rolling Stones had Newark buzzing all night.

Not much to add, you all saw & heard it.

Here are a few shots from the street and the rafters.
