The title for the greatest rock & roll band in the world EVER remains undisputed.

Pissed with the prices and irritated by so many warhorses but still can't argue with that.........Ron esp. was brill..........more Mick taylor next year........and even enjoyed TD................>grinning smiley<

and you saw it for free!

It's true, thanks.........that certainly took the edge off the rest of the crap.....even though Mick didn't put it out for free..........

That girl may be gaga, but she´s not better or worse than some others who tried GS.

Don't let me be misunderstood:

I do like this Gaga things very much, indeed.

And it was a real nice surprising gig,
The Rolling Stones did act brave and confident,
and they have gained some new interested parties in music business.

I still live in hope to see some new gigs by our boys in summer 2013 !!!

Here's for a downer: You can't get round the fact that Lady Gaga is a tacky choice for a guest artist. And I would have loved to see Bruce doing "Run, Run Rudolph" with the boys now that we are closing in on Christmas. Tumbling Dice was a bland choice for him. So, quit whining for now...

Paint it black was the most amazing live version ever.

Lots of people usually complain of the Stones predictable
post tour marketing formula, the DVD, live album, etc.
I've never been so looking forward to all of this, but please,
let it be after a full 2013 of more live shows like the one last night.

What a great show! The boys were spot-on and the guests were enjoyable (yes, even Gaga!) Really enjoyed Mayer and Clark...they can flat-out play! Ronnie was great, too and Keith?...well, i think i heard about one bum note. He sure cant play like he used to but he did a good job last nite. I'm soo glad i decided to get the PPV and record it!

Wow, it seemed like Ronnie turned it up a notch last night. Very nice of him to do so. What a friggin' great band in 2012. These guys are the toast of the town and I'm proud to be a dedicated fan today.

Midnight Rambler was just excellent. When MJ started playing his harp with MT riffin' it just took off.

Hats off to Jagger who sang his heart out and pulled it off splendidly. Amazing. peace

Nice shots GS1978! Thanks.

Noteable is the pedalboad laoded with effects and hard-wired guitar used by John Mayer vs. the simpler setups and wireless connections used by the Stones guitarists. I'm almost embarassed for him. lol peace

I don't care how good a guitarist John Mayer is, he'll always be the pretty boy dweeb who sang that crappy pop song "Your Body Is A Wonderland" to me. Can't stand him.

You're right jumpingkentflash -- It was a thing of beauty.

Despite the ppv marketing and worldwide audience -- he looked like the teenager he was in the 60's learning to play rock n' roll by listening to the latest Rolling Stones release. Here's a great screen grab showing the "warmth in Springsteen's eyes" that you mentioned (from a video "Concertaholicshirtz" posted on youtube).

The energy coming off that stage! eye popping smiley

They upped their game, did things on their terms and delievered a great celebratory series of gigs! Having Wyman and Taylor join them onstage, sweet as @#$%&! The other guests kept them on their toes, adding some twists.

Thank you Rolling Stones! You truly are special!

That's a John Mayer solo song, there's also the John Mayer Trio. They're really bluesy. Ive heard from somene who is a fan of Mayer that he does his solo pop stuff so that he can make money but doesn't really love doing it. To me that doesn't say much for his artistic inegrity. I enjoyed his contributions to the shows though, esp. the first night on Respectable.

As I said earlier in below and to add, maybe its time to move on to a different song with Taylor. I think for now its run its course unless Taylor was on stage for the entire show.

After watching Midnight Rambler again I have to say that Keith's rhythm part sounded best to me, I'll also admit it was my favorite part of the 69 version as well. That rhythm part just carries the song all the way thru. I never liked the sound of Taylor's guitar. It really sticks out of the flow just like at Brussels. His guitar sound not his playing.

Springsteen on TD was a bad fit. He looks more like a excited fan than a contributing guest. He style really contrasts with the Stones. He is too blue collar for them. He looks too countryish with that bowlegged bounce and fist pumping. To rah rah for me.

Mayer is one heckuva guitarist - good technique, spectacular feel. He looked great up there last night. Along with MR, the highlight of the show for me.

Have to admit that I like his playing too, more interesting than MT even but somehow not quite the right fit for the Rolling Stones. peace

I watched the pay-per-view, and recorded it, then watched it over again two more times afterwards

One word sums it up for this band - "stunning"

That's not the same thing at all. He's put his name on this music that he doesn't even care about. That's not really art. At the very least he could stand behind his own work.

It was a mesmerizing performance of Paint it Black - not rushed - very moving.
They were definitely in a groove for that one, as they were for most of the songs last night.

Here's hoping for a very special night.

Either way it's going to be special. Tonight we draw even with the Beatles and later surge ahead with one last great album. Yes, I would say it's going to be special alright. Never thought we would catch the Beatles but damned if were not going to do it tonight! Special indeed! I am expecting a great performance.
Ugh! not this shit again!

Must be very frustrating for you Beatles fans that "stalk" these Stones forums!
