If it was something serious that it could cause a delay in the tour i would think other people then us, like newspapers etc, would have picked up the story!

Cheers,

I hope nothing bad happened to him.
How frustrating it is having to wait for the registrations to be activated and to have more news.
My guess is that the other fijian media would have updated their news too if it was something really serious...

Rolling Stones’ rocker hurt at Fiji resort
Friday April 28, 2006

World-famous rock band Rolling Stones lead guitarist Keith Richards has been admitted at Suva’s Private Hospital.

Fijilive.com understands Richards injured himself while holidaying at the exclusive Wakaya Resort.

Employees at the Wakaya Club refused to confirm or deny that Richards was holidaying on the island but a source confirmed that a flight carrying a "celebrity passenger" landed in Nausori yesterday to convey him to hospital.

Richards reportedly suffered a head injury.

The Rolling Stones just ended a series of concerts in Australia last week after a hectic tour schedule involving the US and parts of Asia.

It’s understood Richards was taking a break at Wakaya before the band travels to New Zealand for a series of concerts.

hm - HappyLady over on shidoobee pointed this out: according to that Rachel Glucina article, Mick said *Ronnie* was going to Fiji.
which doesn't mean Keith isn't there as well, but ... [lighting more incense of well-being for both of them]

I didn't like this.
Keith is not the person to go to hospital, if he don't HAVE to.
Then again, some things you HAVE to go to the hospital for, even though it's not something dangerous damage. For instance a deep cut in the skin.

what I don't understand is how can he have an "accident" inbetween shows Australia/New Zealand (there were just 2 days between gigs) when Fijilive says "Rolling Stones just ended a series of concerts in Australia last week" and the last Australia show took place the same week as the first NZ show!?

just replace "New Zealand" with "Europe" in that sentence.
it sounds farfetched but that kind of mistake happens all the time in transmitting news.
mind you, the whole story could be BS - but it could be just an error in that one sentence.

Let's hope not. I'd be glad if that fat loser wasn't there.

My guess is that due to the huge sums of money involved, and thus insurance coverage, penalties and so on..they have to go thru an hospital whatever the injury, to get the clearance. So, keep cool. If something really serious would have happened, it would have already been on Reuters,AP, AFP etc....

Even if the cat's nine lives are wasted
long time ago I couldnt imagine this is anything that would
end his saga. Knock three times.

If this is REALLY serious you'll see it on the AP very soon...check www.yahoo.com their front page carries all the latest news as it rolls in from all the big news agencies around the world..... Probably just got hit in the head with a coconut...

You're full of charming compliments as usual. If you had a one hundredth of his talent mate ...................... ??

He is talented, but to have him on stage with the Stones for more than 1 song today would be a travesty IMO.

this thread is 5 hours old now- and there's only one source of information
(and not a worldwide agency source, at that)
keeping fingers crossed, that this is minor, minor stuff-
and hospitalization is for insurance purposes only

JUST CAME IN: Looks like he was trying to memorize his lines for "Pirates" and his head exploded....Ronnie was right there to catch the big pieces so Keiths gonna be alright (a Doctor said the only long term problem is he might start playing the wrong song on stage - RJ instead of ONNYA or vis versa - things like that..) wow, now I feel better.....

Actually a severe bump to the head might ironically restore some of his memories & we might finally learn the truth about the Andrew Oldham kitchen lock-in incident, what Muddy was really doing when they first met him at Chess, how Satisfaction was written & even who really wrote the riff to JJ Flash...

It was my understanding, as someone else said, that RONNIE is in Fiji. I also agree that IF (God forbid) this was serious, it would be on major American news!
For heaven's sake, I saw the bit about Chuck Leavell reading to the children.....or whatever it was......on CNN!!
I think it's much ado about nothing.
Imagination.

"Pass it on" (Keith talking about the music)
