BB - I'm sorry to ask, and I'm not trying to be fresh. But, could you re-word this? I'm not entirely sure that I'm following you correctly.

Thanks,

Have had mail contact with a tabloid writer of Sweden's 2nd largest tabloid.
I dont want to reveal all my sources; but I have earlier referred to StonesDoug.

But my crucial message is; think for yourselves.

Well we have various reports in the media, Fran Curtis' statement, and an interesting post from Lorenz. A

Well, this is our Ulster friend Gazza's comment on the Cleveland miracle:

"keith was released from hospital in new Zealand on Monday and it was reported as early as Tuesday that he was in Cleveland

Auckland is 7 hours behind Cleveland with the international dateline change, and about a 12 hour flight. It seems a bit strange to me that the first thing a man who has just had hospital treatment for a head injury would do on being discharged would be to fly halfway around the world."

Fran Curtis is the Stones' official publicist. You don't get any closer.

And McClellan was George's official press secretary. You didn't get and closer there and what did it get you?

News article in Australian press this morning:

No hole in the head for Richards
By Reuters
May 5, 2006 - 11:32AM

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is in good spirits as he remains under observation in New Zealand after a mild concussion, the band's spokeswoman says.

The spokeswoman denied, however, that the 62-year-old rocker would need a hole drilled in his skull to drain blood from his brain, as some news reports have suggested.

"He's feeling good and in good spirits," spokeswoman Fran Curtis told Reuters today.

She did not know when he would leave New Zealand, but said the European leg of the band's world tour would begin as scheduled on May 27 in Barcelona.

Her comments contradicted reports on May 2 that Richards had left the New Zealand hospital and flown out of the country.

Jeff Beck - where are you?

The usual sensational journalism.
Would Keef be outtraded?
Will the sun (the Sun) go up in the west tomorrow?

The news are now spreading - seems like it really happened - will he recover fast enough to play in Barcelona, practicing for the European leg / new songs etc.

Mick is probably up the roof / furious.....

@Baboon
What does that say? Is it a translation of the Sun report?

Re: Keith in Hospital

No sense in translating (no time for it either). Same thing;
if there are some percent truth in there, its all the same
watery soup we were served thru the last two days or so.
headline "KR will have brain surgery".

I see in Sweden's two major tabloids there are different writers
each time. Please note in your countries if its the same there.

Thanks for that Baboon!
I cannot read the Japanese newspapers, but I guess they say the same.
How are you doing, btw?

OK, MicksBrain has got this all figured out for you (anybody wanna send Ladies and Gentlemen on DVD as a thank you gift for figuring this out fell free to). They (the Doctors in NZ) have been waiting to see if this extra fluid in his skull (Blood) will go away on it's own (IOW that the body will absorb it on it's own). Since this has not happened they at some point will have to make the hole. It looks like, from my research, that will be done today (Friday). The reason they don't wanna do it is the European Tour can not go ahead as planned if they drill the hole. 3 weeks to get back to being able to perform on stage for 2 hours is impossible. This is probably where the Jeff Beck story comes in cause I'm sure Keith would go with a substitute guitar if it's a one time thing since he probably feels like he really f-ed up.If they do this hole drilling my feeling is the European Tour will have to be postponed or moved around. This is why no one is talking from the Stones camp because the head hole makes a big difference. One last thing, Mick has never been this pissed (angry) IN HIS LIFE !! There you have it...you can take that one to the bank !!

Who needs sources when we have MB?
But you're right about that Jagger's temper thing.
Stones without Keith is of course unthinkable.

[ Well, Whale; I'm fine but I have an ill daughter
(not worse than she's at school).
Still searchin for a decent work.
Long for Stones in Göteborg (no Jeff Beck, thank you);
and for other journeys (Crete, Greece in September for an instance).
And you (we can continue with the off-topics in another thread maybe)? ]

MicksBrain's theory is very plausible - I'm no banker tho.

If Keith has been at the hospital it had been more plausible.

Use this thread, to post the tabloid gossips, ya chickadees!

"maybe instead of people getting snotty- when someone, in good faith, posts the latest report on Keith's condition, from the Sun newspaper, they should, point out to the moderator, that perhaps this "no more new threads" mantra, should be posted somewhere clearly, for all to see."
(AdrianL, in a irrelevant thread)

Maybe another newspaper next time? Maybe an independed source?

Well BB and everybody else, this will truely affect the preparation for the European leg - praticing new numbers etc..... and probably Mick hadn't included this in his planning of the tour..... he is a control freak.....

We can speak more in pm, Honk. We are all worried; but posting tabloid quotes
may not be the best way to go on.

Sure, we are all worried - that's why I think it is strange, RS doesn't announce something officially.....

Had it been a private company on the stock market with bad news / a bad rumours, the market value would have tumbled if there wasn't any official announcement.....

RS lack of announcement makes everybody uncertain.....

Well, they did really - spokesperson for the band Fran Curtis dispelled reports Keith would require surgery to drain blood from his skull. She added, "He's feeling good and in good spirits." That is the official word.

okay: i'm starting to be curious about what you would regard as official.
publicists serve a lot of different purposes, of course, and i'm aware that we still don't know what's going on,
but Fran Curtis's statement to Reuters seems to fall in the category of "official", whether you find it credible or not.

Keith, be well
