EDIT: Already posted here and here, as mentioned below by Irix.

I think this is very funny:

"Fans of the band who happen to be web developers will also be delighted to learn that the new website's source code features the band's iconic logo rendered as a piece of ascii art, with "Good things come to those who wait" written beneath."

Looking forward to this one. No very high expectations though. I think ABB did not age very well. However now I am talking about it i feel the need to hear the solo in look what the cat dragged in.

Been a while since I listened to ABB, but I guess on Tuesday I'm going to have to - just for the 18th birthday's sake!

As far as the new album goes, be interesting to see if and what kind of teasers we still get over the next couple of days before Wednesday's press conference.

Anybody see this tweet by MarieFranceRemillard?

[twitter.com]

"The Rolling Stones were expected to launch MSG Sphere London, but the development has been paused."

Now, speaking of spheres...

Andrew Watt is the producer of the album.

And while Mick thought it was a good idea, evidently Keith had some issues with his involvement...

Keith's purported issues with Watt might have been disseminated by the source of the apocryphal Ringo rumor.

Not sure, but it was georgelicks who originally posted it here, and he is usually a reliable insider source when it comes to sharing what he might know or might have heard.
Not saying everything he says always turns out right, or is absolutely always true, but I doubt he would spread rumours if he didn't have some sort of inkling behind a story.

georgelicks quoted a post on the Plásticos y Decibelios website.

[iorr.org]

Yes that was it:

"But, apparently, Keith Richards does not agree with the production tactics of the fashion producer with whom they have worked, Andrew Watt"

Fact or fiction? Who knows....

Again, I don't think georgelicks would randomly post gossipy rumours from various websites unless there might have been some sort of truthfulness to it, or he had an inkling about it.
You can believe it or not, and maybe it's false, but it doesn't seem too farfetched to believe it's true. Maybe georgelicks can chime in to clear the air, or to say he just randomly posted gossipy rumours.
And by the way, no mention of Ringo's involvement in that story from Plásticos y Decibelios - only a mention of Paul McCartney.

in a few hours we will begin to have answers to all questions, Mr Wotman's role included (big hint being if Keith plays or not in the tracks co-written by the producer).

For what is worth, though, reading about and listening to Pop, Osbourne and Vedder's albums, Watt's working process seems to follow predictable guidelines in terms of songwritings input and credits, session musicians involved and even guests appearences (see Elton John both in Ordinary Man and Picture (where you have Vedder's counting intro btw spinning smiley sticking its tongue out )

Speaking of Elton, also a Mick pattern seems to emerge. I was listening to a very interesting and funny one hour long Steve Lillywhite's interview for Warren Huart's "Produce like a pro" and when it comes to his involvement in Dirty Work he says "apparently Mick asked Elton John: 'Who does bands at the moment?'"

Can't wait to hear the whole HD thing

No .... he didn't understand that these 'website errors' are by purpose.

And he would have found the 16 seconds MP3 file in there - [DontGetAngryWithMe.com] - (maybe he has, but cannot publicly mention that).

It's hard to find good employees...

To his credit, he does write: "And, in what will surely turn out to be the punchline in some kind of hilarious meta joke, whoever's been manning the band's account is responding to complaints simply by answering with the song title: "Don't get angry with me.""

Let's wait for the album, but personally I doubt Keith's ability to compose, whereas Mick has never stopped experimenting and working. He's the band driving force.

And pity again, no credit for Ronnie.

At this point of their career, I am ready to welcome any new original material they release with open arms and mind. Criticism takes a back seat if any.

Yes, but 8 years ago.

So...whatever happened to Don Was ?! Did he go the way of the dodo or is he still on board ? Not that I will miss him given the apparent lack of interesting ideas he brought to the band since VL.

I like the idea of another mean lean back to basics album next year before a tour once HD's proved they could still be "relevant" ;-)

Andrew Watt only produced a few songs, while the rest is supposedly produced by Don Was, maybe also by Matt Clifford as he also is listed as a Co-Producer in "Ghost Town".

Wonder if Steve Jordan also has producer credits on the album. He is a great producer, for example produced John Mayers "Continuum" album and the Stones should make use of him in my oponion.

the album was released 8 years ago but I believe most of the songs were written way earlier (or rather the basic ideas were much older but somehow turned into songs)

If they create a link, it should work. If it doesn't work, then to be quite honest ....

Try this link: [DontGetAngryWithMe.com] .... should work error-free and w/o waiting.

Hi there, Irix,

I have to admit, that besides thinking of myself as a webworker who knows quite a bit about WordPress and the usage of the 'Inspector' to analyse sourcecodes, I am frustrated not to have found that mp3-link by using the known tools. But it should be easy to find, I thought.

Ok, it's WP (as is rollingstones.com) and it's hosted at Amazon's cloud, etc. and there's a player involved (that audio-plugin), but where the heck is that link?? grinning smiley

I also checked some of the JS like musickit.js, because I thought it is built there via some ID or something. No way. eye rolling smiley

So I bow my head in respect!
It's fun to have some techtalk once in a while with Stones content! smiling bouncing smiley

No real news, but the rumor that's been circulating for a while now is that there is a press event there on Wednesday the 6th. The band will appear, but not perform live.

but where the heck is that link?

As it is mentioned below the ASCII graphics in the website source code: "Good things come to those who wait". When you wait until the 'Play' button appears, then also an 'XMLHttpRequest' (XHR) appears in the website's source code, containing the MP3 file. Found it out while I tried to read the source code, interested in how they programmed these artificial errors and waiting times.

18 years - the same time span as 1963-1981.

Some bands have careers during that time span......
