You have the initial phase, like football players and athlets in general, from age 20-35, then you get older, life is changing.

Very few are making hit albums for 6-7 decades. The Rolling Stones had fans younger than themselves in the early sixties. Then they got monster stadium big in the 70's, made some fantastic albums 69-76, and just kept rolling.

To expect a band with three core members now in their late 70's and Mick at 80 still being highly active and creative, would be to expect something out of normal human activity at that age.

Most of us start slowing down at some age, I just wonder why some expect the Stones to have the same energi they had in the 60's, even these days.

startling isn't it? Though to be fair you've had Doom & Gloom, One More Shot and Living In A Ghost Town in that time. And Blue and Lonesome.

There was also that cover of Dylan's Watching The River Flow, from the Ben Waters album, which Bill even played on.

Oh and Crosseyed Heart. And of course Superheavy. And Mick's collaboration T.H.E. And Old Habits Die Hard and the Alfie album. Oh, and Gotta Get A Grip and England Lost, forgot about those! And the "too bad it didn't get an official release" EASY SLEAZY!

And Ronnie had the superb I Feel Like Playing...and that tribute to Jimmy Reed, Mr. Luck, and Mad Lad, the Chuck Berry tribute.

Not to be forgotten Charlie's The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie.

Oh and all the newly produced versions on the superdeluxe sets, Criss Cross, Scarlet, All The Rage, Plundered My Soul, Following The River, The Tattoo You deluxe cuts and No Spare Parts and the superb deluxe Some Girls disc.

And of course El Mocambo...and the cavalcade of other live releases, BRUSSELS etc.! And Honk and the side of live duets.

Speaking of which the 50 and counting, No Filter and Sixty tours.

Have I forgotten anything?

They could have jammed an entire career in that time!

OH...I did forget something...HACKNEY DIAMONDS!

taste is of course personal. and how it changes over time, how you value something today is different from before. but some things holds the test of time. As a fun thing I listened through the whole ABB today. I remember in 2005... it received good reviews from critics. "Back to form", "Classic stones sound" etc... and I felt the same. Today when I listen to it I can't help but noticing that I found B2B to have aged A LOT better. Also vs Voodoo Lounge (which I found superior to them all) and Stheel Wheels. My personal hope is that the upcoming album is somewhat contemporary and can have some type of impact larger than in our fanbase.

Found it out while I tried to read the source code, interested in how they programmed these artificial errors and waiting times.

Probably not really. In the end, the website loads & plays this 16-sec snippet. Everything other is just annoying marketing.

All this excitement has me listening to their newer stuff more, ABB “Back of my Hand” definitely has an earlier Stones sound to it. I really love “Let me Down Slow”. Excited for what’s in store, I really love VD, B2B, and ABB, I just skip by all the posts on here from people who are all doom and gloom about the new album. Can’t wait!!

They are out of ideas, How dare they bring in an outsider like Watt, the markeiting is overkill, from about 8 seconds of actual music it doesn't sound promising etc. For crying out loud wait and hear the whole song and album. I agree that Bridges to Babylon has aged really good. It just sounds like a good modern album that doesn't try to catch up to their "golden era" but rather like the Stones creating new music in 1997. Just as Some Girls is great because they didn't try for it to be another exile but rather a new and innovative peace of art.

Therefore I believe it is right to bring a modern producer like Andrew Watt an board. No matter how much they would try to do another Sticky Fingers or Exile, there never will be another Sticky Fingers or Exile. Because it's impossible to relive the past. But it is possible to create art in the here and now.

Paul, please don't take away the dreams of Macca saving the Stones just when all hope was lost. Especially when it's only their original bass player returning for his first original Stones number since 1991.

It's funny you say that because I've always regarded "Back Of My Hand" as being like a "You Gotta Move, Part 2". Which is a good thing!

Blue and lonesome came fast and sort of loose and unexpected.
Ghost Town came fast too.
I like the Stones when things are not so over planned.
