Maybe Universal Music should have used: "Don't get angry. Tell us what you think" after the 16 seconds instead of this 'sudden error'.

Personally I think the "Angry" clip is way to short to give any real understanding of the song.

I would compare the Hackney Diamonds marketing with the NME Exile flexi we got in 1972. I played the flexi to pieces (I bought three copies of that NME issue).

The proplem with internet and marketing is we get so much more fragmented teasers. An ad in a local paper. A countdown timer. A very short song intro. Stickers and tongue projections. It is all marketing.

By Wednsday next week we will have the real song, that will be great news.

We have to be patient - very patient - but we have been waiting for 18 years - a long wait!

This is the most preachy I ever recall reading Bjornulf. Most points agreed, especially about the marketing. However, I can tell that I love the track already.

EXACTLY ! It doesn't bloody work !!

It works just as they intended it. They are messing with us on purpose.

O really ? Well, if that's how they "intended" it, then in my humble opinion ... it's a load of bo**ocks ! Simply f***ing stupid !

While I’m excited for this release and the song sounds decent, I don’t think it’s #1 material. Hard to say that after 19 seconds but I don’t think it’s got what it takes. I think the album will be but the song no.

It could have been made a bit better. Loading the content slowly. Then at 99% an 'error' occurs and suggests you to reload the page. After the refresh, it slowly loads the content again with the 'heavy traffic' warning. When it's loaded, you can play the snippet and then after the 16 seconds suddenly the next page appears and says: "Don't get angry. Tell us what you think".

I'm okay with all this if in fact it's worth the hype. Was just telling a friend about my extraordinary happiness of the release of Voodoo Lounge. I haven't enjoyed any album like that since. But maybe it's because I was a lot younger too. Anyhow, my fingers are crossed that I will at least like the album.

Who the f... is Andrew Watt??

Andrew Watt - Wikipedia.org .

On 3 new Stones-tracks he got Composer & Lyricist credits. Along with the non-Stones related guests it looks like as if the Stones have not enough own ideas.

Andrew Watt is the producer of the album. I also don't like the fact that he helped and got credit for 3 songs and other guests on album. It is like they don't have enough of their own ideas. Long time ago, they said many times the album is almost completed, yet here we are with different people. I think Mick has been working hard on it for a long time, and I hate to say this, but I don't think his writing partner had the same enthusiasm as Mick, nor on the same page as Mick. Possibly different ideas. And for heaven's sake ... his name as Watt next to the songs ... many people think their the song Charlie's playing on.

Yes, I watched that, but the 19 seconds still seemed to be only about 6 or 7 seconds of music?

This is the most preachy I ever recall reading Bjornulf. Most points agreed, especially about the marketing. However, I can tell that I love the track already.

What started off as a clever and lighthearted tongue-in-cheek ad in a newspaper, seems to have evolved in to marketing overkill now. Sensory overload bombardment for those with short attention span.
Countdowns, projections, stickers, etc., etc., etc. - sure it's fun to experience it all while we wait patiently for the big day, but seems it's almost become a deflection from the new album, and the music itself.
And now with the latest gimmick of having the clip suddenly stop, enjoyable and humorous perhaps (for some of us anyways), but have the Stones now become comedians, pranksters, and practical jokers?
I'm all for a good laugh, and can appreciate the lightheartedness of it all, but it seems to be getting too far away from the main focus of simply releasing the new album. It's becoming a sideshow. A deflection.
As for the brief "Angry" intro clip, while it might be too brief to give any "real understanding" of the song, it's certainly long enough to get a taste of it including a countdown, drums, guitars, and vocals...
Still looking forward to hearing it all on Wednesday, and perhaps it will sound better in full...a new Stones tune credited to Jagger/Richards/Watt...the verdict is still out, but for now it's a hung jury.

where did they find a payphone?winking smiley

London and UK do still have lots and lots of these traditional red payphone boxes. I just love them. But I wonder who is using them, as we all have our own phones these days.

In fact not "everyone" has a personal smartphone. The section of the population that does not is the section that is in most need - the poor, the homeless and the elderly.

Yes, public payphones are less important to many of us than they once were, but to some they are still key ways to get in touch with others.

A couple of years ago in Australia the main telecomms company (Telstra) did what I consider to be an astonishing thing. It recognised all of the above, and made all non-international calls FREE when using a public payphone.

A rare case of a major company having a working social conscience.
