I despise Jimmy Fallon but loved the Stones in Exile week he did in 2010 to promote the Exile reissue. Each musical guest did a different cover of an Exile song and it was a great week with other fun sketches that Mick and Keith were in

So, the consensus seems to be that there will be an announcement/press conference at The 'ackney Empire on 6th.
There are two unknowns.
The first is whether or not there will be some sort of stunt (blimp-style). Rumours of Mick sky diving in are wholly unfounded.
The second is whether or not it will be streamed on any social media so that we can all, subject to timezone, watch it as it happens.
"Hackney Archives is closed from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday 6 September for staff training. Normal opening times resume from 2pm onwards."

"staff training" – good one. I like their humor.
But being closed for the public between 10am and 2pm rather sounds like it going to be a press conference or a exclusive listening party than a live performance

The Stones are advertising this as "New Album. New Music. New Era". I get the first two, but do they already constitute a new era, or is there something else we haven't yet figured out?
And before you ask, yes, I very much enjoy to completely overthink all of this before wednesday

Nice! Thanks Topi
Also, who caught the joke about Fallon blowing dust off the phone (presumably because it hadn't been used for so long!)

In right at the Empire now. Prowling around, talking to the security guys, who obviously know what's happening, but are friendly denying any knowledge!
I poked my head around a for that gave me a wide view of the auditorium and stage - with some very diamond-like colourful graphics projected on the back screen. No time for a photo before the big (but friendly) security guys told me to move on...
