I and others came from UK and even further afield for the two shows and others are supposed to be coming in just for Saturday. It's very hard for most of us to change flights and reorganize plans for any rescheduled show and if the audience was to be mostly out-of-towners in the same position, it begs the question of how many of them would be able to make any new date in the near future and how many of their tickets could be resold at short notice.

Not the first cancellation for me, either. Valladolid and Atlantic City. Wembley too but as a London resident it didn't involve travel for me.

Shit happens. So there's nothing to do but make the best of what Vegas has to offer and hope that Mick recovers. Got to say that my eyes and throat are really feeling it in this air out here. I'm crossing my fingers for Saturday but not holding my breath either.

Some say this is a tragedy. Well it is not. It is a tragedy if there is a car accident and people die. Nobody died.
Exactly.

Yes I was very close at Desert Trip and noticed Mick coughing throughout his performance but especially when moving across the stage. I assumed this was
due to the dust in the air - which was awful. Hopefully he recovers before Saturday's show and they are able to reschedule Wednesday's show.

If they end up having to reschedule the dates for sometime in the future, I think there would be a high likelihood of adding more U.S. dates. So there could be a plus to this...

I'm still in bewildermint after reading this news last night, and really feeling bad for everyone who made travel plans, for those who are already there, and for all who were really looking forward to this show.
I've been through it several times in the past, and it's never truly an easy situation to deal with. Hoping Mick gets better, and everyone who is already in Vegas makes the most of it.

I just got a call from my friend Scotty who was in Vegas last night, and is now on his way home driving through the desert in Barstow. He's bummed alright, but he's keeping his head high and plans on driving back on Friday for Saturdays show. I told him to stay informed regarding the situation as it's probably a 50/50 right now. Really hoping that one happens for those who are going!

According to Chucks FB post from 5 minutes ago the Stones are playing tonight... They will probably take the post off in a couple of minutes though

Chuck taking the p*ss as he's still annoyed at Mick for not being invited to plink around last December ;-)

On a more serious note, take heart everyone out there and try to get together to blast some music!

i believe Mick got Vegas throat but those shows did not sell out, tonight had a huge amount of tickets sitting unused on the secondary market and in the hands of casino hosts giving them away.saturdays show would've been to a half empty arena.

he has throat problems but it's not unreasonable for someone to say they bailed because of ticket sales, the truth could be somewhere in between.

they priced themselves out of the market and this is a good way to save face,my guess is they cancel both shows and move on.

Thanks for the post, lem.

this is a real bummer . flying in this morning . no way I can extend stay for Saturday ( if it happens ) . well at least the wife and I enjoy vegas. the show was just a BIG bonus for a trip here. maybe we can get a bar to play all stones songs for 3 hours !! lmao

Mr jimmy: if you'd like to commiserate with many other disappointed stones fans, you're welcome to the shidoobee party from 1:30 to 5:00 (or longer, now!) at the "money plays" bar, a small distance from the strip. All stones music will be played. Go to shidoobee.com for preparty details. Hope to see you there!

Local LV view: This is a mess. Missed affordable tix for tonight, but scored my single cheap $150+$22.50(!) seat up in #211 for Saturday. But wow. There are a LOT of tix at AXS.com. Just pulled 8 seats (together!) at $750, $450, $350. My favorite band has priced out of Las Vegas...

Feel bad for all the people who travelled from far and got disappointed because of the cancelled show.
I'm travelling with my daughter to Vegas tomorrow for the saturday show and we alsowould be very disappointed if this one will be cancelled too.
But it won't be the end of the world, I will make sure that we have great time: A helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon is almost as breath taking as seeing the Stones close..smiling smiley

ps: prefer to see the Stones though....

Hate to say it but I too think ticket sales has something to do with the cancellation. I wager Saturday is cancelled and neither show rescheduled.

I'm not suggesting that The Stones would be anything but honest with fans, but I think they would be viewing this as a mixed blessing. Look at how more than half the tickets for Saturday aren't sold yet.

What about the tix sell ?

If the Stones can't sellout a Saturday night in Las Vegas, then it might be time to consider lowering ticket prices.

Re: The Rolling Stones Las Vegas show October 19 cancelled
Date: October 19, 2016 21:14

Worse, I pulled up eight seats TOGETHER in $350,$450, $750. Breaking my bank for my single $150 up in sec 211.
TICKET PRICES ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS!
Jeezus, Streisand was (much!) cheaper. Not that I went....

+1 - I flew from Paris to Adelaide in March 2014 - no Stones in Australia, but it was fun anyway

I can confirm that my bud who lives here in Vegas has already received a confirmation e-mail that his pre-paid parking pass will be refunded to his account due to the show being cancelled tonight. It is an automatic refund, he was told he didn't have to do a thing...

So, I'm in Vegas with fingers crossed for Mick and Saturday's show. I feel bad for Rick from Lexington whom I met on the flight out Monday from Cincinnati... He had tix for tonight only, and will be leaving tomorrow unless he extends his stay.

I'm fortunate that I'm staying with friends out here in Enterprise, so at this point I've spent on the flight and laid low. Hoping for Mick to feel better and maybe pull off the Saturday gig! Pushing one of the dates back to Sunday would work, too, but I'm on the red-eye home on Monday night and won't be able to make a return for rescheduled shows otherwise.

The T-Mobile Arena is available Sunday and Monday. I think they will play on Monday which is HALLOWEEN! They love to play on HALLOWEEN!

Not when they have Saturday only half sold. Not at $750, or $450. The problem with making it a very expensive show in a destination location is you need wealthy people to come to the destination.

Last night we walked over to the T-Mobile arena several times as the show got cancelled, to talk to other fans. I met a guy and told him the show was cancelled. He went blank for a long while, and I felt bad because I was the messenger. After a long while of thinking he told me he had been driving from Philadelphia Pennsylvania here to Las Vegas for three - 3 days. The way getting here might have been long, but the way back home will be longer, as he could not stay until Saturday.

I will never ever complain about cancellations. They do happen at times. My worries are nothing as compared to many others, who spent their days off work, vacation time, all their savings, may be their only option this year, to get here. Let's Drink to the hard working people. Let's drink to the salt of the earth.

Not to throw any more cold water on the situation, but the automatic offer to "refund parking costs" simply cannot apply to very many ticketholders at a show like this one. Who needs prepaid parking in Las Vegas?

A bad scene for certain.
I do wonder how many people, if any, will be in the arena on Saturday.
