If anyone has booked the IBIS through 'Hotels.com' be careful look at the small print.I have already had the money taken from my account, When I called I was told I had agreed to pay Expedia [a third party] - I booked through - Hotels.com.I called to cancel- quoting my reference number, To be told 'You will get a refund within 72 hours' I Am Waiting.

Yep, after booking, I called the hotel in Milwaukee to note a late arrival and he said: "it's ok, the room is already paid for."

Well now the Knebworth rumour has been put to bed, what's the chance of them returning to play Roundhay park Leeds...I was at the one in 1982 and it was a fantastic show as the official release shows. It's been a while since they played a show in Northern England and since I only live 14 miles from the park I'd be delighted!

I suspect they'll do so in 2022; or better yet, in 2032 - at the 50th anniversary.

Would love to see this show officially released... A "Vaults" audio; maybe combined with a video (DVD/BluRay) release (if the complete show is available - I'm aware of the 4 clips already circulating)... With some short, 10mins-or-so rockumentary as an 'extra'; I've seen some tv news reports from right before & after the gig; and they're quite hilarious (the piles of garbage etc.). Lovely document of its time, this could be(-come)!

Oh well... back to reality.

It was a good day all in all....Leeds city centre was just awash with Stones fans...only negative I recall was it was a bit windy and the sound drifted occasionally. The fence was pushed down about half way through the show and hundreds just walked in! Keith was on fire that day and seemed to play all the guitar parts, Ronnie looked fairly distant - as he did for most of that tour.

I went to both, knebworth and Leeds and both were good.

Still hoping its going to happen, BV isnt usually wrong about these kind of things.

I reckon the Jimmy Saville association totally kills any chance of Leeds being released.

Yes, that was an unfortunate connection with the city...Saville had a flat in the park and of course was there on the day of the gig, but I do remember reading at the time that Jagger wouldn't allow him access backstage...not sure if that is accurate or not.

It shouldn't have any influence on present day shows there though, although it's been a while since they had a big name play - think U2 was possibly the last big gig in the park and that was in the 90's

Bv showed up on page 3 basically saying he'd have to cancel a bike race if the Stones would play. That's nothing we wouldn't know anyway

What I meant to say. If there was a show announced, BV would cancel some appointments. Anyone can figure that much out.

I was actually thinking of cancelling this morning but decided I might as well hold on. I know it doesn't look likely but I can cancel for free right up to the morning of 15th so no problem holding on a little longer.
