This might be the most bourgeoisie post I've read on this site.
Because France got a show at the Stade de France in Paris last year, drawing a 76,000 crowd. I was there. The point is, we are their home country, where it all started in 1962/3 and they've not played here for 2 years now.
And I think you'll find more Britons holiday in Spain than France.

Since most of the brittons are on vacation in August, why not play France instead ?

I think Aug 15th was rumoured because it didn't clash with any major festival. I always thought Knebworth was a slim chance. I would rather them play just about anywhere else to be honest. Although after the latest tweets I think we may be seeing some kind of "launch" in London and nothing more :-(

On the other hand. Playing some sort of show during the Exhibition in London seems likely. So maybe that Knebworth rumor is true and there were negotiations. But for 2016.
