Slide parts on "Never Fall In Love Again" slay me every time.

Weird, since I just thought of it, I went and listened to the track on Apple Music, and it's a different mix with way more (too much) of MT's slide.

Says it's a 2008 release from Sensible Records? Was there a reissue of A Stone's Throw with alternate mixes that I didn't know about?

Great Keith imitation thumbs up

Funny that you mention it. I always considered it as a Taylor mishit or a parody on Chuck Berry. Still figuring it out. smiling smiley

Yeah, I have two different versions of this Album, one is much better than the other but not sure which one, have to find them and check it out.

I've got this version and it's sounds great.
I think that it's a great blues (and not only) album, played by one of the greatest guitarist ever.
I also think that only some people (Jeff Beck, Clapton, Bonnie Raitt) can play the blues like MT do. A Stones' Throw is maybe his best solo album; also his band was brilliant.

Have a nice day.
G.

A great album and band indeed.

The the line-up:

Mick Taylor- Guitars and vocals

Max Middleton - Keyboards

Bass - Michael Bailey

Drums - Jeff Allen (Taylor's former manager, the man behind the Sensible Music Label)

Rhythm Guitar - Robert Awhai

Mick Taylor's "Happy" guitar solo - love or hate?

is this up to Taylor's usually high standards?
please discuss.

Does he have a solo on "Happy"? All sounds like Keith to me.

Pretty sure he plays all the guitars on the studio version, including bass guitar.

It was a joke smiling smiley

But it's sad that you consider the obvious nod to Chuck parodic..

confused smiley Obviously he didn't play on the studio version but if you are referring to the short solo he takes in this Official Live version from 1972 I'd say it's OK, but not the highlight of the tune. I always laugh at how absolutely bored he looks on this tune while Mick and Keith are singing and playing so energetically.

Can anyone lip read what Keith is shouting at about 3.10 in the video for Tumbling Dice from Ladies & Gentleman film?

At first I thought he was telling Jagger the song is finishing but I think it is actually to Taylor, Is he saying something like "shut up Mick you c@@t'?

Taylor was on fire during this show.

1970-10-07 Grugahalle, Essen, West-Germany

Love in Vain is perfect, Sympathy is dangerous and also Stray Cat has got something special. The Stones must release this concert. This tour is an evolution of the '69 one.

I think Ice Cream In The Foyer is the best bootleg of this tour.

More shots of English guitarist Mick Taylor at Advision Studios, London, during the recording of jazz flautist Herbie Mann’s album “London Underground”, c. November 1973
