There he goes again, the man who does not care about melodies. Call it "Infamy,pt.2".
If that "Amnesia"-thing would not be a Keith-song, most people might say it is only a pain in the ass...
Isn't there a Led Zeppelin fan board you can go complain about Jimmy Page on instead of just being 100% negative here?

Amnesia sounds really cool.

I listened to TIC earlier today. His voice, and how he uses it, has improved tremendously, imo.

Indeed. On some of the tracks on TIC, like Struggle, he does not sound nearly as good as on trouble or amnesia. In make no mistake however he sort of creates the balladeer we have come to love.

I wonder if Keith will ever do an album of all the old ballads he loves, like the ones he did on Longview farm in 81' and the ones he did while awaiting his sentence in 77'

Amnesia was one of the tracks that stood out for me immediately, but it's even better in this quality. (Didn't catch Keith's "No @#$%&' way!" before!) There's a few other tracks that didn't fare very well with the bootleg quality (Blues in the Morning; Substantial Damage) and had a very muddy sound. So I'm expecting a similar revelation from those as well.
As for Amnesia, its slinky groove reminds me of Bodytalks. I also love that brief section where everything drops out except for Jordan's relentless beat.
I don't expect everyone to embrace this as Keith's best album, as it's difficult to compete with albums fans have been listening to for decades. However, I do think Crosseyed Heart might be his most cohesive album. It's certainly his most organic, with every track feeling like part of the whole. Swampy, soulful, and rootsy. Sure it could've been a tighter experience with 2 or 3 fewer tracks, but I'm not sure fans will have a clear consensus on which tracks should've been omitted.

Am I the only one worried that Amnesia lyrics were written about himself?
Guess I'm a sad sack lately, but that bums me out. Maybe 'Black-out' instead, like from too much booze...
I think his voice quality reflects cutting way, way down on cigarette smoking...
God I must be getting old, but I will always
LOVE KEITH!

How does Keith's voice keep improving in the last 20 years.
Its got this rich, deep velvet, growl to it.
Just seems unusual to me for a voice to improve so much, in ones latter years.
