They are drawing a tour where they use the current stage in arenas sized 20,000 or so people, as it seems. Not so many of those arenas in Europe, but there are some in Germany, the new one in Amsterdam and so on. I am expecting the same concept of 18 or so shows, we will see how they do it, but the arenas are booked and it looks good, very different from the spring time lookout. I think they realized how much energy there was in the band, and how many European fans that did actually travel to UK and to North America for shows.

there is one in Belgrade ,Serbia !!!
come on to Kombank Arena Belgrade

Old school and MicksChick I am with you...One more with the worlds greatest rock and roll band in the worlds greatest arena... Sorry Dreamtime but it is still the greatest arena in the world...the history just seeps out of the place. Goose bumps everytime I walk in the place. It is where this whole thing should end in my opinion. Scared what I am gonna pay for 2 tixs so me and my old man can see it but really dont care.

I am sorry to anyone that I might have slurred. The term I used did not become slang and insulting until half the life I have led was over, and I never even think of using it in that form. The field I work in still uses it all the time in its neutral meaning, if as a physician I hear the term "spastic colon, " I don't think anyone is insulting a patient. I am sorry, I apologize to anyone that took offense, but as some one with two language degrees I would just like to say that the slang version of the word does not remove it from it proper use in the English language. Hot and cool still denote temperature not just chicks ( and I don't mean birds) and cars, dumb still means you have lost the ability to speak, as in deaf and dumb, though I suppose today more correctly that would be hearing and speech impaired.

And please, I am not making light of anyone's condition, just trying to add some humor when I say that I guess when someone calls me fat now days I should smile and assume they mean like a phat car , something that is cool ( not cold to the touch) but...oh oh...what would the original word or currently correct word to define the non-Celsius defintion for cool? Perhaps in my years I have become slang impaired, but I am not a mean man.

I am not at all apologetic for the original intent of my message, which is no one has any right to impose their vision of how a 70 year old should act...one day they will be 70 and hopefully in control of their own life and legacy. OH YEAH AND THE MUTHA FRIGGIN STONES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In 1981 Ian Dury (of Blockheads fame) bought out a song called 'Spasticus Autisticus' it got banned, .. [en.wikipedia.org] .......from what I can gather from quotes in his biography, he, as a crippled bloke from polio seemed to think that 'normal' pepole were far too sensitive about the sensiblities of crippled people to the point where he and apparently others in similar straits found it just patronising.

When asked if he felt he had missed anything because of his disability, he said "yeah, missed a few buses"..............

He brought out this song as a protest against the way charities run by 'normal' people regarded "cripps" as he called himself and others similarly situated. As I say, banned in 1981, used as part of the opening of the Para-Olympics in 2012.

Personally, I think given the fluidity of language and the fluidity of attitudes, the way they both wax and wane resulting in 'flavours of the month' it's wise not to get too dogmatic, (if PC is your thing)

Kahoosier, I'm guessing your from the States as a bird in England is, or at least can be, a hot chick, as in bikini clad (and not a young Arizonian chicken or turkey etc).......lol.....

No, he's using it in its correct original meaning - but I guess it's become one of those trigger words that can't be used now in any context without offence.

Nice post, kahoosier.

The term is offensive to anyone with a physical disability. It used to be acceptable, but so did the word 'gollywog' It's about walking in the other persons shoes. It's called being considerate. The latter-mentioned slur is quite rightly now considered to be offensive. As a disabled person, the former is pretty damn offensive, too.

Seems like nowadays everything is offensive to somebody. The term was OBVIOUSLY not used with any ill will to anyone. Lighten up Big Al!

I'm not offended, and I've been crippled since a very serious motorcycle accident in 1988. Now what?

That was a funny comment by Keith...referring to inspiring and " fathering" the Artic Monkeys and younger bands he said " It's great to know I ( we) fathered something that I don't have to pay palimony to"... made me laugh! He had to say that God will decide when the Stones call it a day, " not Mick Jagger"...still the jealous child who can't let it go!
I do hope that after the Stones circle the world they can return to Madison Square Garden one more time....that would be fitting! God willing, it could be my final and 40th show.

I am with you mickschix. It is a great place to see a concert and my first Stones show was in 75 at MSG . Would love to see them play there one more time.

MSG DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE!! GET OVER IT!! THE INNER RINGS WERE REMOVED FOR SUITE BOXES AND MOVEMENT FROM SECTION TO SECTION WHILE 'INSIDE' WAS DESTROYED ENDING THE MAGIC OF CIRCULATION (THE LAST ARENA IN THE WORLD). BLAME IT ON THE DOLAN FAMILY WHICH ALSO DESTROYED THE BEACON THEATRE!! R.I.P. - A LIFELONG NYC RESIDENT.

Won't make a difference when I'm sitting on the floor or the 100 level.

still want to see them one more time in the Garden

Yes, we will! Or in Prague, you would have to come :-) But since the number of shows will be limited, Vienna looks more realistic. On the other hand, if we are talking an arena show, there is a rather modern 18.000 seats O2 arena in Prague. The Wiener Stadthalle is not bad, but not a great venue either.

And now that I think of it...Wiener Stadthalle...I will be there in 4 weeks for the Leonard Cohen show, won't you be there by any chance?

Well, since it looks like they quite enjoy playing @ Festivals, they might consider to give a shot to Sziget Festival, which is the top festival in Europe. Now that would be a massive event! However, I don't know if Sziget's budget would meet the Stones' demands...

There's absolutely no way the Odyssey in Belfast holds 15,000. Even with a GA show, you're talking about 10,500 maximum.

The Stones stage design would also remove quite a bit of the capacity of any venue.

I'd say most of those capacities - even the accurate ones - are for venues with GA on the floor. And the Stones and their promoters arent going to go for an all GA floor at too many indoor arenas when they can sell seats for 3 or 4 times as much money, even if it means reducing the capacity.

Don't know if someone already told. But just came from a big festival last weekend in mainland Spain, and someone related with music promoters, etc. told me promoters in Barcelona have told with the Stones and talked about September, probably at St. Jordi.

They used to play at Estadi Olímpic ( 55.926 ) in Barcelona ... but St.Jordi maybe it would be better.
