Well, the end will come sometime. But, honestly, i don't see any reason the Stones to not carry on the tour. We have to wait and see. And i hope that we will see, attend and enjoy next tour's legs.
....
Once again: Noone knows when the end will come. Maybe today, maybe in two years from now. But i already laugh, thinking that so many "prophets of evil", who were "forecasting" the end in 1990 or in 2006, will say: "I knew it... I told you"...

It doesn't matter to me how old they are or will be in the future, I will always be a fan and if they are anywhere near me, I will attend.
I would go and see them even if they are doing a "Steel Wheelchairs Tour 2066".
I would even go to watch their corpses play a show. I would go even if I were a corpse myself.
might I add, in the spirit of things....
I would go and see them even if we were all "retired" down in hell.
I would even go see them even if we were all reincarnated and came back as different people

As for what Max'sKansasCity says about the "eschatological" predictions, i just notice that there are some much more recent than '72 or '83. Allow me to remind of some of them:
1. "This will be the last tour, because the're are old and the audiences are not willing to pay for see aging rockers, anymore". (The "chorus" on every Stones tour since 1989. THE FACT: Since then, the Stones have played live for 27 million people).

2. "There is no place for them in the music industry of 21h century". (THE FACT: Top grossing live act on the first decade of 21th century, the Rolling Stones).
3. "No Stones anymore, because Ronnie is an alcoholic who cannot play guitar" (Now, on "50 & Counting tour" is general admission that Ronnie's guitar work is excellent).
4. "No tours any longer, because Charlie don't want to do it anymore" (Another "chorus")
5. "What Keith says against Mick in his book is a clear signalling of the end of the Stones. No Stones anymore."
6. "Celebrating the 50 years with gigs? No way. The band is almost dissolved now and Keith cannot play." (Before the announcement of the two gigs at O2 arena)
7. "What? Another Stones compilation? Who the hell will buy it? Who on earth needs another compilation, an expensive 3CD? It's a joke. The Stones have jumped the shark. They don't know what they're doing".
(THE FACT: "Grrr!" has sold 1.4 million copies worldwide, so far. What does this number mean nowadays? I just say that, according to the Global Chart - Mediattrafic, by 1,4 million copies sold, an album has an assured potition on Top 30 best selling albums of a year).
8. "The Stones will play in half- empty arenas in North America and this will be their sad end" (THE FACT: The Stones played in filled venues, despite the highest, annoying average price per ticket - $346. I'm not happy for the prices of course, but that's another story).
9. "The '50 & counting' tour is going to be a big financial disaster that probably brings the end of the Stones career" (THE FACT: with gross $ 126,182,391 after just 23 arena gigs, this round could be the most profitable arena tour ever!).
10. "Due to their greediness, the Stones are finishing. Promoters are not willing to work with the basstards who ask so much money as guarantee".
(THE FACT: Knowing what the Stones are asking, before tour's start AEG stated that expected gross between $4 and $5 million per show, in North America. Finally, the average gross per show was closer to the maximum of AEG's expectations: $4,860,854...
I notice only 10, i could notice 100...

Yes - I can confirm that absolutely.
I was at Hyde Park #2 too and I was also at the O2 on 26 Aug. 2007.
At the end of the O2 show I had the feeling this might have been the last time.
Now, at the end of the Hyde Park #2 show I had the feeling there will be more shows than we can imagine .....

That's the way live goes...... sometimes you think no and then it's yes and sometimes you think yes and it's no

Honestly speaking I was also surprised to hear him say that and he also said in WA DC that this is the LAST show on the US Tour.Quote

Everybody heard that, but it isn't the only thing he and other Stones have said in the last few days, and other quotes suggest that they may be playing live again before too long. Possibly the last of the "50-and-counting" format shows, though.
