If they want to do it quick and easy, they should (i) ditch the horn section; (ii) forget about elaborate staging and just use the tongue backdrop from the 72 tour, (iii) ditch the backup vocalists, even though I love em; (iv) Mick T on third guitar, Bill on bass: (v) rehearse 1-2 new songs, and 4-5 warhorses to open and close the show; (vi) for the rest of the show, just play Chuck Berry and old blues numbers they already know by heart; and (viii) add in an acoustic segment highlighted by an extended 12-bar jam that will allow the boys to sit and catch their breath mid-set.

It would be simple, and the best Stones show in ages..

The idea is ggod, but only valid if they can deliver as good as in these years.
They DO need a keyboard.
Blondie Chaplin is needed too, since he is sometimes playing some guitar. Of course, a permanent residency of Mick Taylor could help doing without him.

I think Mick feels more safe with Bernard than on his own.

Since Bill won't fly, he only can do guests appearances and Darryl has to be hired for the US dates anyway.

The horns could be stripped down to Bobby Keys + maybe a 2nd saxophone

If they consider Mick Taylor as reliable enough and if he doesent cost more than Blondie (!) they could ditch Lisa, Blondie + 2 horns.

But since the band seems comfortable in its now traditional configuration, I doubt this will happen, no matter how accurate drbryant's proposition might be.

I am really, really diheartened by the ticket prices mentioned. I keep telling myself that I've already seem the Stones 8 times and another show is not necessary, but who am I kidding? It's the friggin' Rolling Stones! I hate these old bastards for what they're charging.

Unless I've missed something, it's only been speculation so far.

Unless I am missing something, it's still all speculation. Nothings been announced about shows or ticket prices yet? I am wondering how soon tickets will go on sale, once they do announce the shows. I may need to take off work so I can babysit the computer...

Could it be that they have found Bill Wyman's original amps that helped him get into the band, and that the boys used at their earliest gigs? They found them in Bill's attic - they could take a hammer, smash them into 20,000 - 30,000 small pieces, glue each piece to numbered card that would be signed by Mick and would state "Official Piece of Stones History". This is going to be awesome. I wonder how much they will cost -- keeping my fingers crossed that the price will be low enough for all "real" Stones fans to enjoy!

Even if lucky enough to score a ticket theres no way I can afford it.
I'll be missing them for first time since 73.

Crossing my fingers for something a litle more extensive next year...which I think we might get if all goes well and they retain the taste for it.

Actually, La Guardia is two miles nearer (and less frequented nowadays, I've heard ...)

So they really want to do it on Monday/Tuesday? Who from continental
Europe can make it in a working week?

Is Mick making this announcement via live broadcast or via twitter or rollingstones.com?

Which NYC airport is closest to Barclays Center ?

LaGuardia is best then take the BQE (Brooklyn Queens Expressway) to Barclays.

"The O2 is available on November 25 and 27, but not the 26th.

Don't they need a day off between two shows?

I'm sorry but if any of you pay £500 to see this joke of a band you're all crazy.
They're laughing at you..

I know the announcement will probably be for Greatest-Hits/Comp and the documentary release dates; possibly on the shows though that announcement may come week after next

I'd love if the compilation came with a DVD of all of their promos. I've seen them all obviously, have most, it'd be cool to have them in excellent quality on one collection.
