And what about Keith capacity to play guitar on stage ??? Taboo subject ?

Well, speaking personally, mentioning that subject has never worked out well for me; but, what the hell, they need to have Ron, or someone else play all the lead, and have Keith and a friend play rhythm.

The Stones could sound great again!

thank you for doing the math - that sounds about right

That's $475 American.

What do you think the "nosebleed" tickets will go for ?

.......and that's if ALL ticket money goes to the Stones ?

Am I missing something here ?

Let's not forget the sponsors. If some of the concerts will be available on PPV the Stones certainly will get their share of the profits, too.

Ticker prices and availability? Let's hope there is a tour in 2013.

wait, its 25k dollars, not pounds...so $300 each...which sounds about right on average...some more and some less depending on seat location

I guess I was misled by Gravityboy posting £300.

My very reliable sources say that they won't play in the Bonbonnière in Maastricht in November.

Damn, I'm not sure if my Maastrict Motel reservation for November is cancellable without a penalty!

Double the price of the already uber-expensive 02 shows in 2007 in that case.

That'll go down well in mid-recession.

Doubt they'll find 20,000 people in Europe who'll pay that.

If the tickets are market price like fish (as Mick said in 2005),
and the world is In a recession, shouldn't we get lower prices? Just saying.

Its funny that we've become customers for life and will still pay stupid money to see an aging rock band. I remember laughing when mom and dad paid money to see Frank S. forget the words to his songs. Now we do the same to watch Keith forget the chords.

... Prince is taking up residency in Chicago Sept 24 and his top ticket is $149....The Stones won't go that low but I bet they take on certain considerations due to the economic climate.

That would mean that all the money would go to The Stones, which is surely not the case. Many more people would have to have a big profit, which means the tickets would have to be waaaaay more expensive. Sure, there would be some sponsors and the 25 000 000 is not in pounds, but in dollars, as someone pointed out, but the average price would have to be way higher anyway.

It is not interesting for me anyway, since the price is way out of my possibilities, if I add the plane and hotel...and on the other hand, if the tickets were reasonably pried there would be no way for me to get a ticket if there were 40 000 tickets for the whole Europe.

So, it is sad, but this kind of news don't excite me at all. I would be absolutely thrilled to see them again, but if there is only the possibility of listening to a bootleg or some DVD later, then it is not exiting at all, or it is just as exciting as downloading any existing bootleg that I haven't heard. I am more looking forward to another possible ABC&D dates, where I have a real chance to be in the first row for money I can afford.

But...I know...I am being negative before anything is announced, so I will wait untill the actual announcenet before I judge. I hope I will be nicely surprised, but I know it is not very likely. The whole thing might be a nonsence, eventhough I admit that it sounds possible. But we have heard so many made-up things already, that one can not say really.

If these concerts will be on normal ticket sales channels there will be for sure, as I already mentioned, Packages for the first 20 rows at least. May be even side seats etc. As two nights one concert had been US$ 1'500 ca per Person in 2007 I am pretty sure that we speak about way up on such prices as the US$ declined in the exchange rate.

Yet today no amount of money can get you into a Sinatra show, and one day the same will hold true for the Stones.

these shows are just to "see" how much interest is still out there for the band, and IF everyone (keith) still has it musically. If so, a major tour in the summer will follow.

There surely wont be a major tour.
Maybe some shows in the UK, a few in europe and a few in the US.
Maybe a tour over a period of 3 months, not longer.

yeah, about 18 people have said this already, and it still makes zero sense.

angelina jolie doesnt go play a nun with no makeup in an off-broadway show
in order to convince producers to cast her as a super-hot spy in a special
effects blockbuster. she hits the gym, and the plastic surgeon, and the latest
revealing fashions.

you don't build your mystique by reducing yourself to merely lifesize old men.
sort of a spinoff of ABCD of Boogie Woogie.

if you're only doing four shows you can't afford much staging. and without big
staging, the stones are simply not a big ticket act anymore. in fact nobody is
anymore.

there is no way for the stones to look impressive doing just these four
very expensive shows. doing it this way, all they can look is hopelessly passe.

which as i've said i think is jagger's plan. to finish them off, so he
can go do other things without people complaining. with people maybe even
being relieved that they don't have to pretend anymore.

I wouldn't mind if one is paying the prices mentioned for an on form band with plenty of recent gigs under their codpieces, but given the decay of KR and lack of live practise, I'd do one gig at those prices.

i will pay 250, euro max for a show in London, airplane ticket, hotel, food, alcohol on op of it, will make it a bit expensive.
Still, despite of what some people say on this forum, i think it will be great to see those men.

Isn't the 25.000.000 that they think to earn included sponsor and merchandising money
