...erm, the show is called "Saturday Night LIVE"!!!

...and could someone please tell superrevvy that Fantasy Hour is over?

Yeah, especially since all taped performances were 'previously' recorded... ha ha.

With The Rolling Stones "Farewell" Tour breathing down our necks...

Pushed forward into 2012...

25 big free shows and 25 special arena shows!

In honor of which The Rolling Stones have begun a series of near-HD video
re-releases on YouTube.

Hopefully this presages their release on disk in true HD.

So far: You Got Me Rocking, Love Is Strong, and Anybody Seen Angelina Jolie

You can access all three at the following link. It is just so GREAT to have
them in such nice quality.

He achieved a denial from the Stones when he wrote that Charlie quit the band, too...

believe it or not that was a DIFFERENT aussie reporter with a long track
history of being wrong. the "charlie" reporter at least works for
very minor media.

the herald sun guy works for murdock

anyway, i found it. here's the denial by the unnamed Stones spokesperson:

"There are no concrete plans for the Rolling Stones to tour. The same applies to
rumours that they are going into the studio soon
to record a new album."

Hmmm. Time to resurrect this rumor too i think. 20 big free concerts
(coupled perhaps with 20 EXPENSIVE arena shows)?

20 cities off the top of my head, and would make more sense in 2012

PLEASE, NO RIO AGAIN. The guys don´t know who are the stones there. 2 concerts in Buenos Aires but not rio again.

Rio
Buenos Aires
Mexico City
New York
L.A.
Chicago
Toronto
Austin
London
Tokyo
Mumbai
Paris
Rome
Amsterdam
Vancouver
San Francisco
Dublin
Berlin
Madrid
Hong Kong

And I dont´believe the guys will fly so much. Maybe 20 concerts... London, NY, more 2 or 3 cities. No more.

Watched more live Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters...

Slept on it.

When only the Foos were in play, nothing made sense.

But Arcade Fire AND The Foos, both playing Stones songs on SNL, showcasing
their love of the Stones for their fans, with Mick...

Does no one else see it as making PERFECT sense if...

The Stones play the third set on SNL!

Arcade Fire/Foo Fighters/The Rolling Stones, a PERFECT free festival lineup.

25 festivals averaging 250,000 people each = 6,250,000 attendees
25 arena shows averaging 25,000 peep each = 625,000

rounded off total attendance 7 million!

625,000 arena attendees @ average $950 (utilizing auction seating) = $600 million
375,000 festival Golden Circle attendees @ average $260 = $100 million

rounded off total gross $700 million!

including merchandising over $1 billion!

Now we're talking a suitable sendoff for the greatest ever.

Now we're talking The Rolling Stones "Farewell" Tour featruing Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire!

My daughter just returned from her 8th grade field trip. There's a guy who lectured at her school earlier this year on "career day." He's the vice president of the FedEx Forum here in Memphis. Anyway, one of the places they visited today was the FedEx Forum and my darling girl saw the same fellow and asked him if there was any news about the Rolling Stones. He said he heard they were DEFINITELY TOURING NEXT YEAR...out of the mouths of babes...who knows if this guy is right but it's kinda nice to hear.
Cheers. smoking smiley

Ba-BOOM!

Mick has tweeted: "Really looking forward to hosting @nbcsnl next Saturday.
@FooFighters & @ArcadeFire among the guests, should be a great show #SNL"

STONES PLAY THE THIRD SONG ON SNL!

(now i'm thinking mick won't even play with Arcade Fire or the Foos.
stones songs, but no mick.)

My husband and I were just talking about this - and he had a great thought. All the boys appear at the very end of SNL, pick up their instruments and then drop them and say, well you'll just have to catch us on tour.

Remember, be nice to the Foos, or their multitudes of fans might beat you up.
No worries about Arcade Fire though, their fans are wusses.

I think Mick is extracting his revenge on Keith for all of the trash talking Keith did in his book.
I wonder if Keith will be at the SNL thing smiling politely

Dave Grohl, Exhibiting Patience

Dave Grohl formed Foo Fighters after the death of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain in 1994.

Foo Fighters' sixth album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, includes a
song Grohl wrote for two miners who, trapped in an Australia mine collapse, asked
rescuers to send down an iPod loaded with Foo Fighters songs.
Grohl sent them a
note, then met with one of the miners after they were rescued.

Grohl is a percussionist, guitarist and songwriter — and an actor, having appeared
both on Tenacious D's debut album and in the 2006 movie Tenacious D
in the Pick of Destiny.

That statement comes from the heart I suppose which is a good place but the reality is that Keith isn't interested or able to rock and roll as hard as he used to or otherwise he would have done since 2007. I don't care,I love the Stones anyway.

The Stones aren't really even a way of life for Mick, Keith, Charlie or Ron right now.
