I was hoping this thread would be the for some reason 50 some page SuperHeavy thread page count but, like the Stones and their 'tour', it's lost steam and looks like it won't happen.

I hope they are able to do SOMEthing! I want to see them on stage together, and I'd LOVE to see Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman, one last time. It could be one show or a few shows in residency, or a tour--doesn't matter. Just hope they'll be able to pull SOMEthing off again. Too bad it's not at the olympics. Hope Keith has more LIFE in him.

The Rolling Stones Planning 20-Date Tour, Australian Show Likely?
WRITTEN BY BRAYDEN DARKE ON 3RD MAY, 2012

The Rolling Stones 50th anniversary tour, which has been “on the cards” for a while now, looks to be becoming more of a possibility with more info that we’ve heard today. It now seems they’re planning for 20 dates around the world, with an Australian date very likely, and these shows could also be free.

“There is going to be a big concert worldwide. The Rolling Stones are thinking 20 dates around the world. They have to be landmark cities to fit in with this vibe”

“The word is the concerts are going to be free and that it’s all going to be sponsored by corporates. That’s the latest mail. You would have to think Australia is in the mix for one of the 20 spots up for grabs, surely.”

There ware talks about them coming to Australia as a part of their anniversary tour this year, with goldcoast.com.au reporting that there had been discussions about “planning another Aussie run”.

However, guitarist Keith Richards and frontman Mick Jagger said that the band are just not quite ready to hit the road yet, but 2013 could be the new goal and that they have “a feeling that’s more realistic”.

Another line from another talk from another informant from another source feeding us another day of hope.

Still, I only believe if any news would be spread officialy by trustworthy news (whatever that could be...)

And even if the concerts would be free Nationwide would do anything to grap big bucks including the ticketagencies.

Stonesdoug's latest: "There is supposed to be one show in 2012 and then
a smaller version of a tour in 2013."

I believe the 2012 thing is correct, but not the 2013 thing.

Easy now, rev! I just wanted to know why you THINK it's not correct, because you don't KNOW, now do you?

Gazza reported about the studio rehearsals right after it happened, btw. In addition to that, insiders have reported about the one off-gig in 2012 AND the plans next year.

Why are they wrong, and you right? That's the question.

PS: The info Gazza got was saying that the rehearsal in London wasn't filmed at all. Merely a recording for the 50th ann. compilation album? Could be, I dunno. Do you?

A recent rumour revealed by Australian radio station Triple M, that the Stones will conduct a 20-date tour of major cities in 2013 for free, has been dispelled by an official spokesperson. As unbelievable and too good to be true as the news was, Fran Curtis (publicist of Sir Mick Jagger) has told Rollingtimes that the rumour is "not accurate".

C'mon, Dandy, you must know my schtick by now. My schtick is that I'm a
complete outsider who lives in a little country town in Australia, and has
no associates or contacts whatsoever inside Jagger's organization. My
schtick is that I do it all by divining it.

I've also stated repeatedly that as much of a kick as I get by being right
time and time again (no, not all the time, but I've got a way higher shooting
percentage, over the course of 18 years, than any of the associates-of-insiders
that post on the various Stones boards), my only goal is to be plausible and
entertaining. I can't help it if I can read things like the back of my hand.

But I don't consider myself as particularly all-knowing or all-seeing. Rather,
the awful truth is awful sad: I do consider y'all as particularly blind. Only
because, there are none so blind that will not see.

stonesrule/GumbootClogeroo has gotten me banned a few times for repeating
myself, even though I do it less than her/him. So I've got to be careful,
and take two steps back sometimes, so the dogs don't bite.

Now, Dandy, regarding your questions. 1) I don't think you're correct about
any insider/associate touting a one-off gig for 2012, until Stonesdoug did it
yesterday. So, given Doug's track record, that was reason enough for me to
crow. I mean, I don't receive any consideration for my participation here,
unlike some others. So "crowing" is my only compensation. 2) I never say
I "know" anything, unless I'm taking the piss. 3) But I have previously
on a number of threads went into Sherlock Holmes-like detail on why there
would be new tracks recorded, why there would be a one-off show on or about
July 12, and why there will never be another Stones tour or even mini-tour.

And should I prove right yet again, sorry, but that would almost surely inspire
a lot more of my schtick. So y'all keep doing what you're doing, and keep
praying that I'm wrong, because its the only thing that might shut me up for
awhile. Kindest regards, revvy

smiling smiley I know, Rev, but seemingly you have taken on more than the usual speculating role you had before.

- Regarding the one-off, I wasn't talking about any touting or "official insider news" posted on fan boards this time. I'm sorry I can't elaborate more, don't wanna put friendships on the line here.

BTW, your other favorite artist is playing in Norway, together with her "friends" from Kiss next month smiling smiley

Now you've made me feel doubly good! C'mon, Gazza, make me feel triply good!

As I said earlier, I've never had a doubt that the inside info about the 2012 tour
was legit and that the inside info about the 2013 tour is now legit. In that it was
the honest opinion of insiders, who were in the position to know. My opinion was/is
(based on deduction and induction) simply that these insiders were/are being
intentionally misled.

But, as much as I like crowing, I actually don't mind eating crow all that much
either. Comes with the territory. So we'll see.

I said I would give it my best shot to visualize a 2013 mini-tour...

Proudmary, of all people, brought up the possibility that Keith is actually
cooperating in the current downsizing of the Stones/upsizing of Jagger. I instantly
dismissed that possibility. It seemed and still seems so wildly out of character
for Keith to do that, even if it was the only way for him to get more Stones
shows out of Jagger. But, on the other hand, Keith is no stranger to bargaining
with gangsters. So...

Maybe.

I think the story will be told in the second half of this year, after July 12
and before 2013, when I think SuperHeavy will reappear with both new music and
shows. If Keith and Stones fans are both generally supportive of Mick's other
band, then I can see more Stones shows happening in 2013. If not, not.

Well, I wouldn't put it the way you put it, but look at it this way: Mick is
not going to be trashed by Keith and Stones fans and then turn around and be
nice to them. He just isn't, anymore. He proved that in 2012 and he'll re-prove
in 2013 if he's given no other choice.

How did he prove that in 2012. All I´m seeing is the Stones getting ready + Mick was quite open about "lots of lovely things" would be happening in 2012...
