Reminds me of queuing for tickets for the Shepherds Bush show back in 99. What a great crowd that was and we had the late great Nicky Sudden in the queue and playing songs for us on his acoustic.

Blankets, duvets, brandy and gallons of hot tea - everyone. Keeping my fingers crossed for your signed copies - and everyones health.

Keep that brandy away from Big Al. It's only hot cocoa for him! grinning smiley

Better bring an air sickness bag for the man, then... And plastic protection for the people around him.
I seriously hate being puked at in concerts. Happened in Sweden once, all over the back of my Stones leather jacket. I got quite mad, but the guy was legless, intoxicated and not aware of where he was.

Ha, Ha, Ha!winking smiley

I'm still thinking about this one. I'm half-tempted to join those in the early morning, but the night before is a definite no-no. It depends on work, also.

Err... if this is a reference to my 'ruined concert' thread, than I can honestly say that I haven't been sick through alcohol since I was 18 - and that was 9 years ago.

Why are you bringing this up, anyway? Silver Dagger was only pulling my leg.

Not ME ... I was thinkin' of Sir Keef of Riffs !! I mean what else has he got to do that morning whilst we're out on the pavement freezing our asses off, apart from luxuriate in his Claridges suite and order himself a delicious room service breakfast ? Bollocks to that, he can grab the Gibbo instead and come down to Piccadilly & keep us lot amused until Waterstones call him in. A far more productive use of his time and energy !!

Keith busking for the queue may be a little optimistic, but what about our old friends The Rollin' Stoned?

And what great publicity too. In the right hands this could be a great PR coup for them!

How much chanche to get a copy???
Posted by: Bluesstones ()

Hi all,

I'm very amazed that there is little rumour about the fact that Keith will sign copies of his book in London. I mean this is the chance to meet the legend! Is there anybody who will go tho London????

But seriously: how big is the chance to meet Keith and get a signed copy? Will we be early enough if we are early in the morning in front of the store in London? Or could I forget it because there will be a lot more than 450 people hanging out in the night? I hope someone has soomeone experience with this because I'm not from London so I have to travel a couple of miles.

According to these regulations:
"As this will be Keith Richards’ sole UK appearance he will only be able to sign a strictly limited number of copies. The first 450 people in the queue outside Waterstone’s Piccadilly will be issued with special wristbands to get a chance to meet Keith Richards and get their copy signed by him.

Due to time restrictions, not all of those people will get to meet Keith Richards in person on the day, but everyone who has been issued with a wristband will be guaranteed the opportunity to buy a rare pre-signed edition of Life".

A big chance or little?

Hope to hear some serious replies from you! Thank you all!

Hi:
Here's a serious reply. It's KEITH RICHARDS so there will be mayhem. However, Keith's people are very good and they know about the mayhem. They will have things in order.

Suggestion:
Get there early, get the wristband, follow the rules (no other stuff to be signed, etc.), remain calm and focused.

If you do all of that, things should work out in your favour. Good luck to you!!

I'm gonna drive down from Wigan (200+ miles each way!) arriving Waterstones bout 7 am.
I've dithered on this decision, but decided that if I don't go-I'll wish I had afterwards.
I'm guessing theres a possibility of NOT meeting Keef-but at least I would have tried.
I considered stand in line overnight, but I gotta draw the line somewhere.

If I'm disapponited, then so-be-it, there'll be a lot more!

Then I have booked my flight from Oslo, I'll be
arriving Tuesday at Gatwick 7.30 PM, hope to be at
Waterstones before it closes at 10.00 to buy my copy of LIFE.
And then I'll just wait all night long!
As some of you have mentioned, it will be a be huge disappointment
not to meet Keith or get a signed copy, but then, at least I can feel
like this guy:
