Quoteswiss Quoteredsock Oh and isn't the Keith version of SS just a guide vocal with semi-dummy lyrics? don't know -- is there a story? would love to hear it! I think "guide vocal" was mentioned in the Rolling Stone article, maybe from Was.

I would like to wait also, but I am not that strong. That 30 second bit of ADTL at Amazon.UK -- OMG!!!!! (Are we sure it's only 4:09? Maybe it's a typo and should read 44:09?)

Quotedownagain It's no secret that Jagger doesn't have a huge interest on looking to the past. He want to continue to prove that he is vital, etc. Given that, I was kinda surprised when I heard they were going to go into the vaults to dust off some unreleased tracks from the Exile era. Now, seeing how these old tracks have been treated, it all make a lot more sense to me. To me it a

i have some serious issues with tinkering with old tracks, esp. exile-era tracks but i have to say -- judging it as a new stones song that dropped out of a clear blue sky, i was impressed! played the damn thing straight through 3 times.

Thanks for this!!! Sounds fantastic! I went to grab the artwork file and I saw that the file ends in ".exe" -- and I got wary. DVD file is also "exe". Shouldn't they be "rar"?

i remain 100% against any modern tinkering with the nearly 40-year-old tracks. i was originally thinking if the stones won't release these tracks "as is", then don't bother doing it at all. but i'm feeling now that in order to get ANY new stuff from the vaults, the modern tinkering on some other outtakes is part of the price to pay. i still think it sucks and it's

Back around the mid-90s, I worked for a lawyer in 500 Fifth Avenue (corner of 42nd street). I was leaving one evening, took the elevator down, got out and was going to turn into the lobby to head straight out the door. Who passes me to go into the elevator I just got out of? KEITH! He was with a woman. No idea who, but I was thinking may have been Jane Rose. I did not say anything, but I stop

We know that many of the songs on Exile on Main Street were actually written and played in the studio long before the band gathered in Keith's villa in the summer of 1971. But how much of the music on Exile was recorded in 1969? 1970? In France? In LA? Someone -- an engineer? -- posted a bunch of stuff on the web about five years ago. He says various clues about how the music is played gi

i saw the same torrents, some of which have this description: "This project looked like a challenge because some recordings are really bad, but when I came to realize that it's not up to me to remix this album (beyond my skills anyway), it didn't need as much as I initially thought. So, I kept it raw and authentic. If you liked my 'Sticky project', you want this one t

Gotta have the outtakes, so the 2-CD set is a go. But I own several complete copies of both CSB and L&G, as well as six (or maybe seven) vinyl copies of Exile, as well as some dandy vinyl rips. I'm pretty sure the *entire* BBC special will be available via torrent somewhere after it airs. So it seems like I'd be paying (in Canada) an extra $90 for the book -- and the pretty pa

I am trying to compile disc(s) with the outtakes of the 10 songs that ppeared on Some Girls. This is what I have found on the many sets I have, but they are all a real hodge-podge of stuff. There are "missing" take numbers so maybe there are more tracks out there. Anyone have more info? Miss You II 11:44 Miss You III 7:27 Miss You IV

THANK YOU for sharing this!! The SG outtakes are on a bazillion different releases: Paris Outtakes, More Fast Numbers, All Them Women, Sheep Dip Blues, etc. etc. etc. Does anyone know if there is a list of exactly what circulates -- I am wondering specifically what outtakes are out there of the 10 songs that were on Some Girls.
