I recently bought this tape off eBay Uk for a few quid. Now, I want to transfer it to DVD. If I use a standard home VHS/DVD recorder combo, will I be able to record the tape onto a disc? Thanks FT

Quotestraycat58 There's another way. What if we contribute and send couple of Euros to the first one who will buy one copy and seed for the others? With thirty contributions the dvd is paid. Good idea SC58. I'd be happy to contribute a few Euros towards the cost. Whose buying the DVD then?!

QuoteMore Hot Rocks Bull crap about the heroin. This rumor got started in one of Keiths biographies. The author states in the same paragraph that Mick starts singing Street Fighting man instead of Brown Sugar. Something like that. I was at the show. It never happened!!! Also if you listen to the bootleg you can hear IT NEVER HAPPENED. How can these writers just make up crap and get away with it??

What/who is the source for this material? Only a few weeks ago, when rumours of this disc surfaced, there seemed to be a consensus here that it would consist of only already-seen amateur audience footage. Now pro shot footage just "appears" from nowhere.

Quoteliddas It's difficult to rate separately the film and the performance. As a film in itself, I always found Shelter a bore. All those interviews remind me of that old Woody Allen movie Take the money and Run. But it is the only way to see some decent footage of that great tour. L&G is great because the band is great. But the images don't add to the music. If SAL is Jagger-cen

QuoteAdrian-L Hyde Park has sold out in minutes. An extra night has been added. A warm-up tour, of smaller venues, will be happening, too. Wow, the latent army of Blur fans is considerably larger that I had assumed!

I got mine in the HMV sale last year for £4.99. They may have confused the CD price with that of the still ludicrously over priced Four Flicks DVD.

Quotejlowe Judging from a survey from one of the financial journals the Beatles/Apple hardly need to do anything with their product. They still seem to out earn ALL other artists per year. Must be galling for Sir Mick. Indeed. But Sir Mick isn't dead and dead musicians with a cultish following sell by the bucketload (not their corpses, hopefully).

Really? A million quid. Well I'm sure they'll all put the widely reported disputes and such behind them for that. As long as James and Coxon stay off the sauce then they'll be fine ;-)

Yes! It may be a bit romantic for some but Moonlight Mile is great name for a street. Nuking is a bit strong isn't it Sir C of C?! But it's like the old joke - "The was an earthquake in Dartford this morning. Reports say that £1Billion worth of improvements were done." Arf arf.

Maybe the royalties have dried up from Coxon's good but niche solo CDs? ;-) Sir C of C - Blur had more depth than the Mancunians. I always thought Blur were cut from the same cloth as The Kinks.

1. Yes it would sell altho how many units is anyone's guess. They can afford the marketing and advertising costs to ensure reasonable sales. 2. $150 price tag for some obscure outtakes is going to seriously reduce an already small potential market. Are the big stores going to carry that? I baulked at paying £30 for ACDCs Plug Me In set. Something like a 'Stones Live - The 70s&#

Lol! Well, if I was in charge of PPV events at Sky, I'd be on the phone asking if it was possible to screen all of those old shows in the UK. But then I am biased. Years ago, I did record LSTNT off Channel 5. That's had an official release, certainly plenty of copies on eBay. Probably down to who owns the various rights. Still, seems odd to me that you would record a show like

Saw them do Parklife live at Glastonbury in 1994 with Phil Daniels doing his OTT Cockernee parts. They were pretty good (not as good as the Beastie Boys obviously!). Am surprised they are getting back together as I'd read that Albarn was more than happy with his successful Gorillas project and that Coxon wasn't interested in playing the old Blur songs any more.

I was thinking that they could do a PPV live at the same time as a UK show. They do US, South American and Japanese PPV shows which seem to have no effect on later ticket sales. Maybe they impose the same conditions on say Sky as they did in the news reports Logie posted? They are no doubt greedy b@stards!

AFAIK, neither Sky nor Virgin Media have ever carried live PPV Stones shows in the UK, despite this being common in other parts of the world. Anyone know why this is?

FYI, the Marquee/Montreux Rumble DVD is seeding over on Zomb torrents. The seeder has also ULed Keith Richards Cologne 92 and Boston 93, altho I understand that the KR seeds are currently paused due to bandwith issues and will restart as soon as there is a good swarm of seeders on Marqee/Montreux.

I love Neil Young but how much are they charging for a DVD? Presumably this is a lot more than one DVD in a plastic box? Does Neil come around and give a show and commentary in my house for that money?! Good on him for continuing to push out the old gold but who is going to buy it?

Without wishing to sound like Grandpa Simpson, the trouble with today's kids is...! Aren't all teenagers self-absorbed? I know I was. When we look back at youth cultures like the hippies, there seems to be a tendency to exaggerate those groups as being representative of the entire generation. Isn't it fair to say that most baby boomers weren't hippies and didn't g
