Would you like to live in Satisfaction Street?

Is this a joke or are Dartford council really going to name their roads after Stones songs - and would the ever-ingenious IORRers like to make some suggestions?

Rolling Stones honoured with road names

Would you live in Sympathy For The Devil drive?

The MusicRadar Team, Thu 11 Dec 2008, 3:25 pm UTC

The Kent town where Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards grew up is to honour its most famous musical sons by naming new streets after Stones songs.

Dartford Council is currently deciding what song titles to give to 13 new streets on the 1,500-home, £400million Bridge estate.

Names reportedly being considered include Satisfaction Street, Stones Avenue, Angie Mews and Ruby Tuesday Drive.

Dartford council leader Jeremy Kite joked: "You can't always get what you want, but in this case I think we can get some satisfaction."

There is already a Mick Jagger Centre for the arts in Dartford. Melbourne in Australia has its own AC/DC Lane while there's a Rue De Rory Gallagher in, rather strangely, Paris.

But local police are already warning that die-hard fans could steal the road signs. This has happened in Liverpool's Penny Lane, and the sign of London's Abbey Road is regularly grafitti'd by Beatles fans.

Here are my suggestions:
Melody Lane
Aftermath Avenue
Connection Court
Dandelion Drive
Beggar's Banquet Blvd.
Rocks Off Road
Stones Square
Sway Way
Citadel Circle
Lady Jane Place

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Love In Vain Lane?
Sex Drive?

In Dartford it's more likely to be something like Respectable Road - and I do NOT want to live in Sad Sad Sad Street.

Yes! It may be a bit romantic for some but Moonlight Mile is great name for a street.

Nuking is a bit strong isn't it Sir C of C?! But it's like the old joke - "The was an earthquake in Dartford this morning. Reports say that £1Billion worth of improvements were done." Arf arf.

hopefully they'll have Sister Morphine Park in the middle of the development, so that residents have a peaceful place to sit and talk and laugh and read the papers and throw up and die. ahh, yes....

Rock Road is next to Hard Place.

And there's a little place that I know...
it's between Rock and Hard Place.

In most cities when they paint lines on the street,
they use white or yellow. Not here. Here... they
paint it black.

Once when I was driving through there,
I was riding in my car, and a man came on the radio...
he was saying all this useless information...

Then I realized a cop knocking on the car window when he
said, "Can't you hear me knocking?" And before I could even answer
he said, "You gotta move."

So I did. And I was so pleased that I ran 20 red lights.
