OT - Blur to reunite!

With threads here about Led Zeppelin, The Eagles and others, I'm sure, many of you won't be too thrilled about the news, but they were heroes of my youth!
I've got huge respect for Damon Albarn, probably one of the most creative musicians to date.

Got my tickets already!

Saw them do Parklife live at Glastonbury in 1994 with Phil Daniels doing his OTT Cockernee parts. They were pretty good (not as good as the Beastie Boys obviously!).

Am surprised they are getting back together as I'd read that Albarn was more than happy with his successful Gorillas project and that Coxon wasn't interested in playing the old Blur songs any more.

I like Blur, but must admit to not being particulary fussed over this reunion. A new studio album with Coxon may get my attention, however.

Everyone has their price (with the possible exception of Bill Wyman)...

I had to smile when Geri Halliwell announced that she was retiring because she was too old to be a pop star....just a few months before The Spice Girls reunion!

Blur were a superior band to Oasis. Modern Life Is Rubbish is a brilliant album.

Maybe the royalties have dried up from Coxon's good but niche solo CDs? ;-)

Sir C of C - Blur had more depth than the Mancunians. I always thought Blur were cut from the same cloth as The Kinks.

The million quid, LiveNation are paying them, probably
has something to do with it.

I always saw Blur as following in the footsteps of the Kinks and Madness.

Really? A million quid. Well I'm sure they'll all put the widely reported disputes and such behind them for that. As long as James and Coxon stay off the sauce then they'll be fine ;-)

Hyde Park has sold out in minutes.
An extra night has been added.

A warm-up tour, of smaller venues, will be happening, too.

Wow, the latent army of Blur fans is considerably larger that I had assumed!

Same here. I'm really looking forward to it. I've seen them eight times. They've always been great.
