QuoteAmused MacPhisto, and do you know everything about ploughshares? some people are just not interested in the things we are and I'm okay with it. I get your drift and I do not intend to be arrogant. Not recognizing Bob as he looks today is perfectly understandable to me (I suppose many people of Bob's age who liked him back in the sixties wouldn't recognize him today). Bu

QuoteLike a complete unknown: Bob Dylan frogmarched to collect ID after rookie policewoman fails to recognise scruffy music legend Back in 1965 Bob Dylan sang: 'How does it feel to be on your own, with no direction home, like a complete unknown?' Now, 44 years later, the world-famous musician got his answer when he was stopped by a police officer who didn't know who he was.

I'd sure like to hear this No surrender acoustic version. If it's only half as good as the one on Live 75-85 it was worth the ticket price alone. Does anybody know when it was last played without full band?

QuoteHairball The trinity of Paldium shows sounds much more promising...saw him there several years ago - great (small) venue Also, this reminds me of the 3 Wiltern Theater shows back in '02, where Dylan christened the newly renovated theater (right before the Stones appeared there). I was at all 3 of those shows, and they rank very highly on my Dylan show list. Plus...he whipped through

Bob seems to enjoy autumnal California. He's been playing there regularly during the last few years. However, this destroys my vague hopes for another Europe leg of this touring year. Those shows seem to be a "Bob only" tour again, without any other acts. So there will be the return of the longer sets.

Quotebluesinc. In my opinion Dylan should be discussed there, there are many OT here. I don't think Dylan discussions are a problem on this board. Usually everything concerning Dylan is posted in this thread (and in this thread only), with the possible exception of Theme Time Radio Hour. Moreover I think there is a good number of Dylan fans among the stones addicts here who justify the ex

QuoteHappy24 There is a dicussion about possible European dates in winter at Greasylake: . That would be truly great. Any knowledge about that? Gazza? I would not miss Berlin! Seems unlikely to me after those 5 "final gigs" in September (was it september?). They have toured Europe in 2007, 2008 and 2009, another tour so soon seems not likely. Although I, living there, would appreciate

QuoteSvartmer Year by year he gradually reduces the number of songs. If this continues he soon will be entering the stage, take a bow, then be off to the trailer with a good book and one more cup of coffee. The setlists of this summer tour are shorter because he tours together with other artists. Quite usual with Bob, he also shortens his set when he plays festivals. I'm sure on the next t

There are some mighty fine videos now available from Munich and Frankfurt. Some of them have already been dubbed with the available bootlegs, as for example this video which just made my day :-)) --------------------------- edit: I recommend going to the youtube website to view it. It's much bigger there!

Ah, I don't know... although he played Houston and Long Black Coat I would prefer the night before. Tangled up in blue, Nettie Moore, Thin Man, Til I fell in love with you would have been huge favourites. Am i alone in thinking that Nettie Moore is the best song to be played live from Modern Times (well I'd actually extend that statement to his last 3 studio albums). Every time I he

My personal observations on this topic are that in no way there is a conspicuous detesting the stones among young people. However, I am absolutely convinced that they are a good deal less popular than most of their famous contemporaries. I know quite a lot of people who are between 17 and 25 years old. There are artists that are still really popular among people of that age. Among them are abo

Is it only me or are the recordings of the shows really deteriorating from tour to tour? From what I can hear, the Intro song moving directly into Rainy Day Women must have been immensely great, but frankly the bootleg sounds terrible. (This is something I first observed last fall. Before, not every recording was great, of course, but the outstanding ones really were excellent, now they are

Dylan is easily my favourite artist. I find his work so very inspiring and never got so much out of music as is the case with his. Bruce comes next, not too far away from Dylan. When it comes to decide between the two, I usually take the same way out as Gazza... because the best live show I've ever seen so far was Springsteen's. Neil Young... well, I own a few albums but I do no

Most of the time is a huge favourite of mine. I also like the Lanois production very much, it adds a lot of atmosphere (not only to this song). And is there anyone who can't relate to those lyrics!? I think Bob wrote in Chronicles that this was the first song they recorded after Bob had found a melody for it on the piano. It's also been used in the movie based on High Fidelity.
