In 2024 he would sprint from somewhere on the catwalk back to the main stage, which was impressive, but nothing like ten years before.

QuoteNashvilleBlues Quotetommycharles Interesting, this thread is the first time I’ve heard anyone badmouth Wix. He’s always spot on every time I’ve heard him play with Paul. Maybe his monitor wasn’t working well. Maybe something else was wrong. I don’t doubt he’s top-notch. The sound was off. That’s all I’m saying. I’m not the only one saying that about keyboards at the Nashville show. Shit ha

It’s one of my least favorite of their albums, but perusing the demos, out takes, and live tracks today has been a blast. One heartwarming thing was the 78 rehearsal tracks with Moon - the fairly lackluster drumming on WGFA from The Kids Are Alright put word out that he was completely spent by the end, and the other 78 on here kind of disprove that. That’s as rousing a Drowned as he ever played.

QuoteGeirGG Were you there? I was! Got a pit ticket on the day of the show. Was a great time, and Joe Bonamassa opening was an extra treat, I’d never seen him before.

QuoteSoulSurvivor1990 Whole Wide World absolutely smoked live. The best rocker they've done since Saint of Me. Yeah, it was great in Seattle.

MSG was a really really good show. Crowd was up for it (this was #7 for me and I’ve never heard a who audience sing so loud), Pete and Rog in mostly good moods (Rog said he was having a crap night and wanted to go home, at one point, but it must have been tongue in cheek because he was all smiles all night). We got Long Live Rock which I’d never heard live before. And Katie Jacoby guested on B

QuoteBig Al QuoteMadMax (But the new drummer really doesn't do them any favours, wish they would have brought back Zak instead). He seems to be going for the minimalistic approach; check-out the drums during at the closing of of Little By Little for example. Alan White would be very busy during that part, with all his little rolls, etc. I know that Noel supposedly considered him to be

Quotespikenyc Its only the first show of the tour. Cut them some slack, They are a little rusty now. Hopefully they will get better as the tour goes on. Im may try to get a cheap ticket for Newark tomorrow night. For sure - they always take a bit of time to get going. I’m seeing them twice on this run, so I’m not just being grumpy, but it does seem like Pete’s guitar went missing in these

I’m so confused as to what’s happened to Pete’s sound here. It’s so anemic.

QuoteShawn20 I’m going to see them in Madison Square Garden. Of course I will be thinking about “Welcome to the breakfast show” as I await the performance. I’ve never seen an event at MSG. It should be fun. Will be my first MSG show too! Having it the same weekend as Oasis was too convenient to pass up.

Coldplay have surfed the generations better than most bands. Those of us who sort of fell off after Viva La Vida still like hearing the old songs, and plenty of younger people like the more recent stuff. Ben Gibbard said in an interview a few years ago that the only way for Death Cab to have got bigger would have been to go the Coldplay route and start working with trendy producers, and they d

> But was crippling to me.” Piss off, Roger. You wanted your drummer of 30 years to go away quietly and voluntarily, and he didn’t. That’s just life. Don’t act hurt, you did it.

The band has meant so much to me over time that I can’t resist catching a couple of shows on this last run, but overall the Roger era (2012- ) has been pretty disappointing, starting with sacking Rabbit and ending with sacking Zak.

Quotelikecats This is the second leg for the U.S. The first leg was in 2022 and the Got Back tour has been going around the world since then. It looks like he’s picking U.S. cities that were skipped last time. Yeah - at first I was bummed there’s no Seattle date, but as it’s the same show from 3 years ago, I’ll let this one pass by. Well worth going if it’s near you, though. He was in pretty

QuoteDGA35 Quotephd27 I read I think in the Times, that this tour will be the biggest ever from a band. And that the Galagher brothers might earn a combined 200 M$. Is this accurate ? I think only Springsteen and Coldplay are over this number in terms of individual income with their highly successful current tour. I think Taylor Swift's last tour dwarfs any other tour. Yeah, Swift did

QuoteMadMax This version of Acquiesce is proper weird, the singing sounds like the original version until the second verse which is identical to the first and which is always sung live since late '95. A shame that Liam never sings the second verse as that is a very beautiful one indeed. I do wonder if this is not a "Frankenstein job", a bit like our boys have done since the Exil

Studio drummer from Cali, he has played with lotsa different acts but he ain't nowhere near as good as Zak. Thats why I'm asking as a long time Oasis admirer. How did HE get the gig? Who knew him? Did Michael Stipe recommen

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteHappy Jack As it seems The Who is headed into the twilight I can look back and make a few observations: Ive been a fan of the band for 30 years; My first was concert was in 2000 at 17 in Tinley Park, IL. It turned out to be John's last tour with the band and they rocked. I saw them three times after that (the last being in 2007). I love The Who and will always lov

QuoteBig Al This’ll be the first ‘retrospective’ Oasis set-list. I reckon we’ll get a reasonable mix of tracks, incorporating all periods. I predict ‘Stand By Me’ from Be Here Now; ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ from Heathers Chemistry, etc. The only album I’m not so sure about is Dig Out Your Soul. Here are the tracks from each album, that I think are possibilities: Definitely Maybe: Rock

QuoteMunichhilton Quotewindmelody QuoteMunichhilton What are the chances they choose a solo song to mix in? Noel goes backstage and Liam sings Paper Crown with the band. Zero. That’s not a lot. Maybe Greedy Soul then? Less than zero. I like Paper Crown, even, but no solo songs on this trek. Already too many good Oasis songs to fit in.

Wasn't there another benefit concert for NYC after a hurricane?) was enough to convince me they had long jumped the shark. The Who were sublime at the Concert For New York in 2001. The Who also appeared at 12-12-12: The Concer

QuoteDGA35 Saw The Who in 89 a few months before Stones. Both did 2 shows at BC Place in Van. Saw them last in 2019, last concert I saw before Covid closed everything down. Liam Gallagher opened, decent. I'll try and get tickets for Vancouver again. I'm sure this will actually be their last time here. Saw them in Seattle ‘19, also with Liam. Eddie Vedder came out for Punk and the G
