QuoteMunichhilton QuoteBig Al QuoteMunichhilton "FOR LIAM AT LEAST"...thats bullcrap. Oasis is just HYB without Liam. He better be smiling as the voice of RnR ‘HYB is Oasis without Liam’ Yeah, it is utter bullcrap, of course! Are you going to a show, Munichhilton? Not likely here in Texas. But I will look forward to the concert film they say isn’t happening. I absolutely love

Seems like the best outcome everyone involved could expect. Bless PT for still being interested enough to sort it out.

QuoteBig Al QuoteMadMax Am I wrong or was there no plexi glass in front of Zak's drums at RAH? Even though he used the particular sort of electric drums I seem to hear Roger saying after quitting singing that "there is no plexi/barrier..." (incomprehensible, maybe he says "there's no pitch here" but my suggestion would make sense) On a side note, Pete's guit

QuoteGeirGG I was there. I don’t believe for a second that it had anything to do with how he played. But things happen. People have their reasons, and this is the story they want to share with the public. Bands evolve though. Next chapter. The Who goes on. I personally loved the version of the band that played RAH a few years back (Rogers band), and would love to see them do a tour. If they com

Quotemosthigh They have nothing but admiration for him but fired him for overplaying. If Moon were still alive they probably would have fired him for the same thing as well. Roger took over the band at some point and fired longtime keyboardist John 'Rabbit' Bundrick, and made all kinds of sound demands, while Pete just sits on the sidelines and shrugs and accepts it all. It'

Quotepeoplewitheyes Yep, Kenny indeed seems like a very decent guy, liked by (almost everyone), and, of course, he was put in a very unenviable position to fill Moon's shoes. I know that Pete in particular really enjoyed his style of playing and working with him. I don't really know what Rog's problem with him was (and other figures in the Who's history). He just want

Quotepeoplewitheyes I was there last night. To be honest, it was a rather uninspired set list. At times PT seemed rather dis-engaged (possibly because of his recent knee op), and brother Simon did a lot of the heavy lifting, but Roger was in very impressive voice. The overall sound of The Who, however, was pretty lacklustre. Support act Level 42 (very very far from my favourite band) had

QuoteDGee Quotekovach That was a little rough to listen to, but man he's still doing it at 82. Almost makes me appreciate the Stones tour last year even more, for the most part did not sound their age. I had the same thought; I wondered, is that Sir Paul's voice on any given night these days, or was that his voice after 3 club gigs within 4 days last week? I think he did the sam

QuoteRollingFreak Quoteds1984 QuoteMore Hot Rocks I finally realized that a lot of people are tone deaf. Yep A simple comparaison between Back in the U.S. and Good Evening New York City already shows the truth. But Paul is a showman and his energy backed by a raw band may fool a lot of people. And things sound a little better live at the venue than on recordings. I contend his voice is

Quotesyrel Quotethecitadel I understand that the Stones have decided to self-insure for recent tours. That would explain why in the US last year they carried on even when Keith and then Mick were clearly suffering from illnesses. It also explains why there are more, longer gaps, in touring schedule - the extra cost of keeping the whole touring team on the road is clearly assessed to be less t

QuoteRollingFreak Just listened to Endless Wire. Sure, some of the songs were ok but overall it didn't feel at all impressive. I'll try listening to WHO this afternoon and see if its any better. Again, don't mean to be overly critical of it, but I can't in any way compare it to Who By Numbers or earlier. Who Are You is an incredible song, but the rest of the album suck. And

QuoteMadMax QuoteBeastyBurdeny QuoteMore Hot Rocks QuoteRollingFreak QuoteMore Hot Rocks QuoteRollingFreak It would be great to hear Pete really give his 100% on a slightly modern day Who album. I don't really need it, but it'd be cool to hear he and Roger do some magic once again. I always thought Endless Wire was lacking. The did all that on the last album "Who". I'll

Quotejohnnythunders Quotetommycharles Quotejohnnythunders Does anyone know who will be performing as The Who at the RAH in March? Eg who will be the drummer if Zak still out of action? And rumoured special guests ? Since when was Zak out of action? He missed 2013 but has been back ever since as far as I know. Sorry it's from the Daily Mail Fingers crossed! Oh, I had missed that.

Quotetreaclefingers I gotta say that Seattle 2019 and Seattle and Vancouver 2024 were amongst the most memorable for me. Which probably in large part is that as I'm getting older, I'm forgetting the other shows I was at in '89, '94, '97, '98, '05, '06 and 2013. As Seattle ‘19 and Seattle ‘24 are the only two I’ve seen so far, I agree! Both great shows.

I’d forgotten they switched to having Noel do it acoustically toward the end of the tour. I maintain the gigs without it don’t seem the worse for it, though, but they’d be mad to leave it out this year.

QuoteGlimmerest QuoteBig Al QuoteRollingFreak Yeah, the set without Wonderwall seems official lol I didn't clock that! I wouldn't mind them skipping it, but it's surely one they 'have' to perform. Yeah I can't imagine it being skipped. In all honesty I would imagine the crowd being very disapointed if it's left out. They did do one tour (2002) where the

No way they’ve already picked a setlist. In early May, they’ll take a look at the ‘08/09 set minus the songs from the current album at the time, add a few extras to make a 91 minute set, job done.

QuoteRockman MOJO 374 --- January 2025 Oh it had better not be Zak, he’s a brilliant drummer for The Who but was a terrible fit with Oasis in 2005-6, easily their worst tour. Sharrock will be fine.

QuoteRollingFreak Trust me, when Paul is done touring it'll be known. And morbidly, though semi hopefully, I don't actually think he's ever gonna stop till he's dead. He'll either get sick and we'll know he can't do shows anymore, or just get to old and suddenly pass. But I think we got a lot more years left of him. His show hasn't slowed at all in the last

Really enjoying this for the most part, but I'd never heard that take on Moon Is Up before, and it's a completely different song practically. They could have done something much simpler and it might have worked better.

QuoteSpud Quotemosthigh Love this album. An underrated classic. 'Heart To Hang On To' is a brilliant, touching song; occasionally played live by Pete over the years. Bought the Rough Mix album on release day and still play it a lot . the solo one at the RAH in 2000 is very well done.

QuoteRollingFreak Quoteswimtothemoon I also had to re-read Pete’s comment regarding Zak Starkey. After the re-read, now I think Pete is not saying that he doesn’t endorse Zach - but simply acknowledging he didn’t have any input in the decision. At least I hope that is the case. In my opinion, Zach seems to do a fine job with the Who tunes. It sounds like, in his nicest way, he's not saying
