I just think they should take a few more risks, just remove some warhorses from tour to tour as suggested by Theif in the Night. They don't need nobody`s approval, do they? And if Neil Young can do it...

At some famous cemetery, a special nursing home or in Shanghai. But, frankly, I think Drake's description absolutely nails it!

I actually prefer the "Greatest Hits" part of it (CD1) - Brown Sugar for example, is a killer combination of Jimmy-Miller-era and Stadium Rocker Stones. The "rarities" section on the other hand disappoints IMO. Great tracklist but poor performance.

One of the most interesting boots from this tour is "Very Ancient, Thank you Kindly". Although it's a patchwork of different shows (and sources which can be quite unnerving soundwise), it contains many highlights in "9 out of 10" sound qualitiy and even some tracks with overdubs, prepared (or nearly ready) for the planned live album of the tour. I agree with L&G be

I clearly prefer the 78 Memphis-Version. Fresh, exciting, perfect. Compare that to the tame "Flashpoint" track. Jagger has to do the falsetto parts himself. But nowadays...

It certainly would have made GHS a better album. Mabe they should have dropped "100 Years" ago for it. It's the weakest track on the album IMO.

Anybody got some tracks from Saville Theatre, London 1969? Only track I know is Jumping Jack Flash from the San Diego 69 Boot. It's a killer version that makes me beg for more...

Still searching for the holy grail - a boot from the 1970 European Tour with good sound. I know it's impossible! The best recording I know is the Essen show. I heard there is a soundboard from Paris but it doesn't hit the mark either. Anybody got a better idea?

I think it's a love/hate song - sometimes you love it sometimes you just hate it. I tend to love it but that flip-flop feel continues. Mabe it's because it contains many typical "patterns" from the mid seventies period: great music and feel, but also some pretenciousness on Micks part. Look at those mariachi horns for example: I love them too ... the spaghetti western feel

Clearly "Unkown Dreams" (Outsider Bird Records) - although the speed is wrong. But then: Maybe that adds to the "atmosphere".

Who wouldn't love to hear the finished results? Referring to the "leftovers": You talk about some of the tracks on "Very Ancient, Thank You Kindly"? There seem to be some overdubs on that one.
